We had fun riding around the city. Try to stay off the cobblestone streets because you share the street with the trolly track which is cumbersome. There are a couple of different parks. Ride in them.

Very friendly man. Note that they may be closed at noon. It stayed open for us. There aren't bike lanes everywhere but I didn't think it was dangerous. A busy city, though.
