Hosted in a real chef’s home — not a commercial cooking school.
This experience is designed to feel personal, not staged. You won’t be in a classroom with individual stations, but in a real home where everything happens together, just like in Italy.
I’m a trained chef with experience in professional kitchens, and the focus here is not just following recipes, but understanding technique — so you can actually recreate what you learn.
We work with carefully selected ingredients, avoid shortcuts, and keep the group small to ensure everyone is involved.
It’s a balance between professional cooking and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere — more like cooking with a friend who knows exactly what he’s doing.

If you’re looking for a quick, tourist-style activity, this is probably not for you. This experience takes place in my home in Milan, where I host small groups and teach real Italian cooking the way it’s actually done. I’m Rafael — I worked in professional kitchens before deciding to create something more personal, where people can truly understand what they are doing, not just follow instructions. We start with a tasting of carefully selected olive oil and balsamic vinegar, with artisan bread and wine — not as a formality, but to understand flavor. Then we prepare a proper tiramisu, and fresh egg pasta from scratch. No shortcuts. No pre-made ingredients. You’ll learn techniques you can actually reuse — not just recipes. We finish by cooking two sauces: – A balanced, classic pomodoro – A Parmigiano Reggiano sauce most people have never tried before At the end, we sit down and eat together — like it should be. Small group. Real cooking. No compromises.

We had a great time! Rafael opened his home for us and made us feel like we were having dinner with friends! At first, we had wine and bread with olive oil and balsamic. We made tagliatelle with butter and cheese sauce and with tomato sauce and completed our dinner with homemade tiramisu. Everything was delicious! It was something different from the normal "tourist" activities. I would definitely recommend it!

Superb evening in the kitchen of our host. Learn to make a succulent tiramisù and homemade tagliatelle, all accompanied by good wines in a super nice atmosphere. We loved the moment. Very nice experience that we would gladly repeat.

Experiencing this authentic Italian pasta making with Rafael was definitely a highlight of my Milan trip as a person who enjoys the stories, histories, and hands-on process of cooking and food. Rafael is an exceptional host, very welcoming, personable, and professional. He is very knowledgeable about the ingredients and the importance of it, I could feel his genuine love for cooking and Italian cuisine as the class went on. And I felt comfortable at his place as if I was visiting a friend's place. And needless to say, the 2 pasta recipes and tiramisu we made in class were divine. Definitely recommend for anyone, even if you don't speak Italian, the class was entirely in English. I left the class so happy with a full belly and a lot of cooking tips from a chef that could be applied to cooking at home. And talking with other travellers in the small group with good wine, olive oil and bread was a great experience as a solo traveller. Thank you Rafael for this amazing Italian cooking and dining experience!

Excellent in home cooking class. We were a mixed group of US and Italians. We were made to feel very welcome. The only minor issue is that at times the class was very heavy in Italian. All could speak English. But overall it was fantastic. The food was excellent.

If you are in Milan and love food, you must take a cooking class with Chef Rafael. From the moment we walked into his home, we felt like welcomed friends rather than students. Chef Rafael shared beautiful stories about his roots and culinary journey, which made the entire experience feel personal and authentic — not just a class, but a true glimpse into Italian family tradition. We made fresh pasta and tiramisu completely from scratch — dough, sauce, everything. He explained which ingredients are truly worth investing in and why simplicity is the secret to incredible Italian cooking. The steps were easy to follow, hands-on, and surprisingly approachable. Every single person cooked, learned, laughed, and participated. While we were cooking, he generously served delicious wine, fresh bread, and wonderful olive oil — the kind that makes you pause and say, “This is Italy.” There were six other guests in the class, and by the end we were all gathered around the table sharing food, stories, and wine like old friends. It felt intimate, joyful, and beautifully communal. The first thing we did when we returned home was go out, buy the proper ingredients, and recreate the pasta. It turned out absolutely delicious — and it transported us right back to his kitchen in Milan. Chef Rafael, thank you for such a memorable experience. It was simple, authentic, joyful, and unforgettable. Grazie mille. 🇮🇹✨

Rafael was an exceptional host from start to finish. He welcomed us into his home and we immediately felt comfortable with his easy conversation. We enjoyed glasses of wine as well as learning how to make tiramisu and homemade pasta sauce and pasta. It was fun and would recommend to everyone. After, he recommended places for us to walk to which also were spot on!
