5.00Our original trip date was cancelled due to an avalanche (In late spring which is unusual) but the team were straight onto it offering a refund or rebooking. We chose to rebook and the following day the road to Milford Sound was reopend (phew). We were greeted at the Southern Discovery Centre and booked on. Our coach was driven by the cracking Stan, with Super-Pete and lovely Ellie... I cannot express how easy they made everything. Great attention to detail, nothing was a bother and I cannot fault them. THANK YOU ALL! We will be back and we WILL be using Souther Discoveries again... P.S. I hope that they see this as they deserve a virtual "pat on the back!"
Milford Sound - Bus and Boat

5.00Great day out - but several hours on a bus to and from Milford Sound. Boat trip was good and captain didn’t go out into the Tasman Sea if too windy. If you don’t like crowds, I’m not sure when would be a good time to go. We were also unlucky with the weather - not many great photo opportunities (October 2025).

5.00The trip was booked with Southern Discoveries. Stan, our guide was quite knowledgeable about the area. He explained to the team in detail about the geography, the do’s and don’t. He got us back to Queenstown safely and on time. To our luck, it didnt rain and was a bright sunny day. I would surely recommend this trip.
