An extended and leisurely cruise of Milford Sound to the Tasman Sea on a cruise designed for the free, independent traveler. Nature cruises have a relaxed and flexible itinerary designed to allow guests to see and experience what makes Milford Sound world renowned. Spend around two hours nudging into waterfalls, spotting wildlife and listening to the informative commentary from our specialist Nature Guide who mingles with guests. Keep a look out for wildlife including seals, dolphins and penguins.

In total, the coach travel from Queenstown to Milford is around 5 hours. This includes with some viewing spot breaks along the way and a 20-30 minutes stop in Te Anau. For those travelling from Te Anau the journey is around 2.5 hours to Milford (one way). The cruise is 2 hours long.
Please note, the cruise will take place on board a wide selection of purpose built RealNZ boats.

Charlie O5.0Aug 2024Had a wonderful day. Our driver Brian clearly explained the plan of the day at the start and was very helpful. He was very knowledgeable about NZ and kind in taking photographs and helping anyone who needed it. The stops were fantastic on the way and the bus comfy. Milford Sound itself is amazing and we saw dolphins, seals and penguins. Would definitely recommend.Epic
Emmanuel T4.0Aug 2024Extremely long trip, about 5 hours going to Milford Sound but you won’t get bored as the views are stunning and the driver will stop at some areas along the way for photo opportunities. It’s like being in a fantasy movie, we even got to drink the crystal clear water from Monkey Creeks and it was so cold and refreshing. The driver, Paulie, was so enthusiastic about the tour, he knew the place very well and gave interesting commentaries along the way. To be honest, I couldn’t believe he talked for almost 5 hours going to Milford. The Milford Sound wasn’t as great as there were only very few waterfalls, which we already expected since it is winter season and dry. I’m sure Milford Sound is magnificent during spring and/or summer so that’s something you need to consider if you are after all the waterfalls. Overall, it was a great experience, not only Milford Sound but also the stops that we did. Definitely a must do activity if you are in Queenstown already!Fabulous Milford Sound time
