What To Expect
Milford Sound
Take a stunning Scenic Flight to Milford Sound from Queenstown, with our fly cruise fly package including a 2-hour Cruise. Milford Sound is New Zealand's premier tourist destination, and the sheer scale and staggering beauty of the fiord are experienced from all viewpoints. We will fly you from Queenstown over the Southern Alps with breathtakingly spectacular and endless panoramic views of lakes, forested river valleys, waterfalls, jagged razor-backed ridge lines and snow covered peaks. After landing at Milford we will choose whether to take the shuttle bus or, if time permits, take you on a short walk through the bush and foreshore to the cruise boat. Once on the boat, you will take a leisurely cruise along the whole length of the fiord. After the cruise, your pilot will escort you back to the aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown along a different flight path.

5.00We thoroughly enjoyed this, I think the favourite bit was the flights there and back. The pilots were excellent, we had Luke and Tamway (apologies if that's spelt wrong) and also Lily looking after us on the ground. Milford Sound is beautiful but the mountains stole the show. Highly recommended.

5.00This was an incredible experience. The flight over the mountains to the sound was mesmerizing, and the sound itself was one of the most breathtaking places I've ever been. Our pilot Tanmay was excellent, providing interesting commentary on top of his incredible skills maneuvering the plane. I grew up around small planes and airports, and Tanmay inspired absolute confidence and nailed his landings in high wind conditions. Would absolutely book again.

5.00Flying into Milford Sound was one of the coolest views I have ever seen. It feels like another planet. So beautiful, so big. I am really glad we chose the flight option. The cruise itself was also amazing, really enjoyed the views from below and a lot of the waterfalls. True South Flights made the whole experience very easy. They were incredibly responsive and accommodating as we ended up changing our dates and they made the check-in process super smooth. I would definitely use them again if/when we come back.

At first our flight got canceled and we were worried we wouldn’t be able to make it at all to Milford, but luckily the folks at True South were able to scramble to find us another plane. 5.00True South was extremely professional, well organized and out pilot was fantastic. They did a great job of communicating in advance (multiple times) including the same day reminder. They add plenty of details along the journey regarding the scenery and then they connect it back to the greater area of New Zealand and its history. But probably the most important thing to note is that they were safe. As a former aviation mechanic for a larger commercial airline, this is very meaningful to me
