What To Expect
Milford Sound
Take a stunning Scenic Flight to Milford Sound from Queenstown, with our fly cruise fly package including a 2-hour Cruise. Milford Sound is New Zealand's premier tourist destination, and the sheer scale and staggering beauty of the fiord are experienced from all viewpoints. We will fly you from Queenstown over the Southern Alps with breathtakingly spectacular and endless panoramic views of lakes, forested river valleys, waterfalls, jagged razor-backed ridge lines and snow covered peaks. After landing at Milford we will choose whether to take the shuttle bus or, if time permits, take you on a short walk through the bush and foreshore to the cruise boat. Once on the boat, you will take a leisurely cruise along the whole length of the fiord. After the cruise, your pilot will escort you back to the aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown along a different flight path.

5.00This was INCREDIBLE. A must-do. We only had a small group, and everything was phenomenal. From the morning pick up (shout out to Sam!) to the drop off, everything was so smooth and professional. The flight over the Alpine region was spectacular. Mark (the pilot) was excellent at highlighting local points of interest and making sure we had different routes both ways to showcase the region, all while recommending other trips/hikes/activities to do. The cruise was excellent too! If you only have time for one thing in Queenstown, do this. In fact, I’ll be back to do it again next time I’m here.

5.00A beautiful exprirance that we both enjoyed very much Absolute memory making at its best on a day of perfect weather, not a cloud in the sky ... thankfully Michael was a great pilot and host and very informative with his commentary the only disappointment was that we could not keep our lanyards as a souvenir or enough time to check out the local shops for souvenirs That said it was a day we will treasure!!

5.00Doing the fly/cruise combo was an absolutely fantastic way to see Milford sound and Queenstown from the air. Michael our pilot was professional and knowledgeable passing on plenty of info. The hotel pickup from Queenstown a plus as well. Well worth every cent.

5.00True South was a great operator for our Milford Sounds trip. They picked us up from our hotel and had an extremely smooth end-to-end process. Our pilot Andrew was extremely knowledgeable and calm. The flight to Milford Sounds is as impressive as Milford Sounds itself, and highly recommend this tour. It can be a bit rough if you don't like small planes. Boat tour was also beautiful with knowledgable guides.

5.00The was a FANTASTIC day!!! True South Flights are top professionals, and run a very impressive operation. Communication prior to the flight was excellent. Unfortunately the day of our trip we had a delay due to weather (early morning fog in Milford Sound) but the staff at TSF, Belinda and Jess, were great as they kept us all informed and let us know our options. The also took the time to give us other recommendations of things to do while we were in Queenstown...some great local knowledge!! We elected to wait for the fog to clear, and I am so glad we did. We took off for Milford Sound around 11:30 instead of 9:30 and had a great flight with amazing views. Our pilot, Tanmay, was awesome. We saw so much of the NZ landscape and Tanmay pointed things out over the radio. We landed 40 minutes after leaving Queenstown and were comfortably taken to the boat dock (5 min ride) for our cruise. The cruise was great, with breathtaking sites the whole time. Then back to the dock, to the plane, up in the air, and back to Queenstown by 4:15. Then, to top it all of, the True South Flights staff were there to pick us up and take us back to our hotel. Honestly, a seamless operation. We take a lot of these types of tours..this was as good as it gets. A huge thank you to all the True South Flights staff for a very memorable day!!

5.00Luke was great. Also, the first pilot we had on the way to Milford sound. Definitely worth doing… Much better than 12 to 14 hour round-trip on the bus. Nice airplanes, fantastic views awesome experience
