What To Expect
Milford Sound
Take a stunning Scenic Flight to Milford Sound from Queenstown, with our fly cruise fly package including a 2-hour Cruise. Milford Sound is New Zealand's premier tourist destination, and the sheer scale and staggering beauty of the fiord are experienced from all viewpoints. We will fly you from Queenstown over the Southern Alps with breathtakingly spectacular and endless panoramic views of lakes, forested river valleys, waterfalls, jagged razor-backed ridge lines and snow covered peaks. After landing at Milford we will choose whether to take the shuttle bus or, if time permits, take you on a short walk through the bush and foreshore to the cruise boat. Once on the boat, you will take a leisurely cruise along the whole length of the fiord. After the cruise, your pilot will escort you back to the aircraft for the return flight to Queenstown along a different flight path.

5.00We had the best experience with True South Flights today. Our first flight was canceled due to weather but they fit us in later in the day and we had the best time. Jason, our pilot, was incredible and the views were out of this world. So glad we didn’t haven’t to sit hours in the car driving both ways to Milford Sound.

5.00Wonderful experience! Initially, it was 50/50 as to whether we would be able to take off due to cloud cover in Milford but it all worked out, and we took off in our 14 seater Cessna with our pilot Jason. Jason was very friendly and talked us through the sights of note. He alerted us to any upcoming bumps, which were minimal, and the flight felt very safe. It is quite breathtaking being up above it all and seeing mountains, glacier, lake etc so close up. The landing is one of the most beautiful airstrips in that it is surrounded by lush greenery all around. The Pure Milford boat trip was also great with lots of information and fun humour from our captain Aaron! A great day out and not to be missed.

5.00Travelling with TrueSouth was excellent from start to finish…the staff kept in touch with updates on the weather & managed to change our flight to suit. We felt very safe with our pilot Dan & appreciated his commentary along the way, he’s a lovely man. Overall this was an exceptional tour which we would highly recommend & Dan (the man), should be rewarded with a beer at least!! Thank you to everyone for making this a special day.

5.00What an amazing experience! This was an extraordinary highlight among many highlights during our time in New Zealand. The scenery is spectacular and our pilot Tanmay was clearly experienced and gave us a smooth flight. We enjoyed the cruise of the sound but the flights were outstanding. 5.00This is a most amazing experience - not to be missed. Staggeringly beautiful landscape seen both out to glaciers, valleys and fiords…. and back. The cruise element is just the right length and expertly described by the captain. A shout-out to pilot Michael for a day to remember for ever. Bucket list ticked!

5.00This was a really fabulous experience. Our pilot, Luke, was excellent, giving clear guidance, interesting extra details, friendly and wanring to ensure we had a great experience. The flight up and back were spectacular and a real highlight of our visit to New Zealand. The cruise on Milford sound was awesome with the commentary by Aaron funny, friendly and informative. The True South support staff were helpful, efficient and friendly. They quickly got us on another fkight when ours was cancelled due low clouds/fog. Definitely recommend this company and experience to anyone visiting Queenstown.

5.00Flights are weather dependent and we were kept well informed with only a slight delay due to low lying clouds. Luke flew us out and Andrew back. Both were extremely professional, knowledgeable and safety conscious and we would have no hesitation in recommending True South Flights. It is definitely worth seeing Milford Sound and surrounding area by air. Cruise by Pure Milford also well run.
