Once in Milford, your pilot will accompany you to the boat terminal. Discover the natural wonders of Milford Sound aboard your cruise vessel with open-air viewing decks, a perfect location for some wildlife spotting. The Fiord is home to fur seal colonies, penguins, and dolphins, who love playing in the wake of the boat. You will cruise the length of the Fiord out to the Tasman Sea with a pass under Stirling Falls on the return.

What To Expect
Milford Sound
Once in Milford Sound, your pilot will accompany you from the airport to the boat terminal. Everything is organised for you, you don't have to worry about a thing! Step on board your cruise lasting at least 1hr 45mins, you will travel the length of the Fiord and out to the Tasman Sea. Stopping at waterfalls and points of interest along the way, if you're lucky you'll also get to experience the local wildlife - the dolphins love playing in the wake of the boat!

5.00We chose to fly back to Queenstown from Milford Sound after traveling there by coach. Will was our pilot and he made the experience enjoyable for a nervous flyer like myself. His knowledge of the landmarks, explanation of our flight path and sense of humor were second to none. We had glorious weather to showcase the beautiful terrain.

5.00⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our experience with Glenorchy Air was nothing short of extraordinary and easily one of the highlights of our Queenstown adventure. The journey began with a spectacular scenic flight, where every window offered a postcard-perfect view. Soaring above endless valleys, crystal-clear lakes, and the most breathtaking snow-capped mountain peaks I've ever seen was an experience I'll never forget. The pilot's (Annabelle) commentary added so much depth to the flight, pointing out landmarks and making us appreciate the incredible beauty of our country. The adventure continued with our Milford Sound cruise, which was equally unforgettable. Standing on the deck surrounded by towering cliffs and dramatic waterfalls felt surreal. One of my favourite moments was making my way to the front of the boat as we approached Stirling Falls. Getting close enough to feel the power of the waterfall was incredible—and yes, I got completely drenched! It was cold, exhilarating, and one of those rare travel moments that makes you feel truly alive. From the snow-covered mountain tops viewed from the air to the mist and spray of Milford Sound's waterfalls, every part of the day was magical. The professionalism, friendliness, and passion of the Glenorchy Air team made the entire experience seamless and memorable. If you're visiting Queenstown and wondering whether it's worth it, the answer is an emphatic yes. This is more than a scenic flight and cruise—it's an unforgettable journey through some of the most stunning scenery on Earth. A special thank you to our pilot Annabelle and the entire Glenorchy Air team for creating memories that will stay with us forever. 5.00Incredible experience. Saw Mt. Cook in the distance from the plane. Flew through mountains, saw glaciers. Great commentary (Isabelle). Dolphins, Seals, and Milford Sound. Still can’t stop thinking of the experience. Highly recommend.

5.00Myself and my wife did the return flight to Millford sound with a Catamaran cruise up to the Tasman sea all was so well organised from the time we were picked up from our hotel to the time we were delivered back all safe and sound, staff 10 out of 10 Office ladys, and pilot just go guys you will not regret its the best loot you spent in Queenstown compared to 5 hours each way by coach...

5.00The trips organised and flown by Glenorchy Air are all bucket list items and ours was no exception. Everything was well organised right from the date we booked. The pick up from our hotel by Ivan was punctual, the briefing and the flight itself captained by Ben was excellent. No canned tapes playing, just our pilot talking us through all the sights to and from Milford. I am a retired pilot myself with almost 20,000 hours experience and I was very impressed by Ben's absolute professionalism and dedication to keeping everyone safe. I'd never flown down a canyon/fjord before and so the flight into Milford was a real eye opener. Since we'd already driven a lot around the region, we had no desire for an 8 hour return drive from Queensland and the Glenorchy integrated flight & cruise worked really well. Thank you once again!

5.00Literally once in a lifetime experience and so glad I did it. I was a bit nervous about the flight but it was so smooth. Ben our pilot explained everything along the way so clearly and gave us a smooth flight. 5 stars and highly recommended!
Enjoying Milford Sound thru Glenorch Air

5.00Originally, our flight was for the 10 May but had to be rescheduled to the 11 May due to weather conditions. Glenorch Air emailed us in advance to inform of the rescheduled date, which I thought was very responsible. On the day itself, the pick up was on time and the pick point was easy to get to for us. 5 mins away from where we stayed in Frankton. Our pilot, Isabel Woodhouse was a very professional, humorous and lively lady. She ensured that we are safe throughout the flight and that we were updated of all the scenarios location and information. It was a very good flight and we enjoyed both the flight and cruise. Milford Sound was definitely the highlight of the trip, and we were glad that we choose Glenorch Air as our trip operator. Please kindly consider this if you dread the long hours of driving in and out of Milford Sound.

5.00My partner and I had the most amazing experience. Our pilot Jim was excellent! Very reassuring, knowledgeable and professional. He really made our experience a fantastic one. Beautiful views throughout the whole flight & Milford sound cruise. Cannot recommend this activity enough!!!!
