Once in Milford, your pilot will accompany you to the boat terminal. Discover the natural wonders of Milford Sound aboard your cruise vessel with open-air viewing decks, a perfect location for some wildlife spotting. The Fiord is home to fur seal colonies, penguins, and dolphins, who love playing in the wake of the boat. You will cruise the length of the Fiord out to the Tasman Sea with a pass under Sterling Falls on the return.

What To Expect
Milford Sound
Once in Milford Sound, your pilot will accompany you from the airport to the boat terminal. Everything is organised for you, you don't have to worry about a thing! Step on board your cruise lasting at least 1hr 45mins, you will travel the length of the Fiord and out to the Tasman Sea. Stopping at waterfalls and points of interest along the way, if you're lucky you'll also get to experience the local wildlife - the dolphins love playing in the wake of the boat!

5.00Great way to see Milford Sound in an afternoon, particularly if longer bus rides are not your thing. One ~30-minute flight to the sound, boat cruise and one ~30-minute flight back. Breathtaking views of the Sound and mountain ranges from above, coupled with a relaxing boat cruise through the fjord. We didn’t take advantage of the food onboard (but lovely to have seats reserved for our flight group), but did partake of a glass of wine and free coffee. Our pilot, Isabel was fantastic — great flier and tour guide, and our plane was comfortable and quiet. Pick up and drop-off from Queenstown was also a breeze.

5.00Amazing views during flight there and back. Jim was great! Good info about bodies of water, waterfalls and mountain ranges we flew over. It was a beautiful day ,so, views were amazing. Thanks again Jim!! Loved the package of duck feet we were given once back in Queenstown!!

5.00Had the absolute pleasure of flying back from day in Milford Sound with amazing Ben. Gorgeous views, great info from Ben and a smooth flight. Great way to end a day in Milford. Ivan, ground staff back at Queenstown, was lovely and well organised, got us in our way home easily. Taxi trip with Wayne was super easy.

5.00We flew home after our day of exploring. Rob gave us great confidence in a much smaller plane than we were accustomed to. Rob was friendly ensuring we were comfortable and the commentary was knowledgeable and detailed as we flew over the valleys and mountains. The flight was seamless and enjoyable.

5.00This was absolutely the highlight of our trip! Our pilot Ben was great. He told us all about the surroundings during our smooth flight. We saw seals playing in the water and sunbathing on the rocks. Highly recommend!

5.00Highly recommend flying back from the Milford Sound! The views were absolutely incredible! Flying also saved us so much time- it would’ve been a 6 hour bus ride back to Queenstown. The flight was only 35 minutes! Plus the pilot was so friendly- introducing himself and pointing out landmarks throughout the flight. Do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity!
