You are guaranteed a window seat with unimpaired views as you fly this incredible route to and from Milford Sound through a landscape of unbelievable grandeur and beauty. Encounter real mountain flying and marvel at the most remarkable snow-capped mountains and glaciers onboard our fixed-wing aircraft. Your knowledgeable, highly skilled local pilot providing interesting and informative commentary. Flying across the Southern Alps, out to the West Coast and the Tasman Sea before flying through the Fiord itself to land in Milford Sound.
Once in Milford, your pilot will accompany you to the boat terminal. Discover the natural wonders of Milford Sound aboard your cruise vessel with open-air viewing decks, a perfect location for some wildlife spotting. The Fiord is home to fur seal colonies, penguins, and dolphins, who love playing in the wake of the boat. You will cruise the length of the Fiord out to the Tasman Sea with a pass under Sterling Falls on the return.

What To Expect
Milford Sound
Once in Milford Sound, your pilot will accompany you from the airport to the boat terminal. Everything is organised for you, you don't have to worry about a thing! Step on board your cruise lasting at least 1hr 45mins, you will travel the length of the Fiord and out to the Tasman Sea. Stopping at waterfalls and points of interest along the way, if you're lucky you'll also get to experience the local wildlife - the dolphins love playing in the wake of the boat!

5.00We cannot recommend Katie and the team at Glenorchy Air highly enough. Our original Queenstown to Milford Sound scenic flight and cruise was unfortunately cancelled due to bad weather in Milford Sound. With less than 24 hours remaining on what was already a very short trip to New Zealand, we were understandably disappointed. However, Katie went above and beyond. She explored every possible option and truly thought outside the box to find a solution. Thanks to her persistence and dedication, she managed to arrange an alternative that allowed our family to still experience Milford Sound during this trip — something we are incredibly grateful for, especially having travelled such a long way to be there. The entire team were fantastic — from the Marketing Manager (apologies we didn’t catch your name) to the pilots we flew with. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely committed to making our experience special. We honestly cannot thank them enough. Exceptional service from start to finish — we would absolutely recommend Glenorchy Air to anyone visiting the region.

5.00Booked direct. We’ve traveled all Over the world and have seen many sites and attractions. This was like nothing else we had ever seen before. Jim was very safe and smooth in his navigation. Take off was a little unnerving but quickly once in the air, the flying was so that one was able to just take in the spectacular scene. He was also a great tour guide -very knowledgeable about our surroundings, bodies of water, certain mountain peaks etc and engaging. 110% a must see and do through Orchy!

5.00It was worth every penny. When trying to figure out how to see Milford Sound during our time in New Zealand we were overwhelmed by trying to figure out the best option but this was a no brainer. Our shuttle picked us up from our hotel in Queenstown around 8:15AM and we were back home by 1PM. Anabelle was an awesome pilot/host and we had an incredible experience!

5.00Our experience with Glenorchy Air was beyond our expectations! It was an early morning and windy roads, great conversations with others from around the world, great coffee, great tour! Our bus driver, Amy did an excellent job of providing us with the history of the area. And, our pilot, Rob, gave us comfort and assurance on our flight back to Queenstown which I highly recommend!

5.00Lucked out and had fabulous weather for our flight back to Queenstown with Rob from Glenorchy Air. He communicated exactly what we were to expect upon take off and though out the flight based on the weather and he was spot on. Very professional, covered all safety precautions and pointed out areas of interest on the short flight back.
