What To Expect
Te Anau Downs
Following departure form Te Anau, we have a 25min drive to Te Anau Downs. If the weather is appropriate, we stop here for a photo and sightseeing looking across Lake Te Anau and down the Middle Fjord.
Mirror Lakes Walk
Following a 20min drive, we arrive at Mirror Lakes. This short 2-minute nature walk on well formed tracks and boardwalks will have you at the tranquil Mirror Lakes, the backdrop of the Earl Mountains behind them. This is a challenge for any travelling photographer to capture the essence of the lakes - their mirror reflection.

5.00Had fantastic day with LuxeTours. Travelling with a small group in a really comfortable bus was the best way to experience the trip to Milford Sound. Our guide Andreas provided great commentary and the stops along the way were beautiful. We were looked after the whe day. Such a great way to experience Milford Sound.

5.00We booked the Milford Sound Tour with Luxe Tours for my wife's birthday and we really couldn't have asked for more. From the moment we met our driver and guide, Ian, we knew we were in friendly and professional hands. We had a fantastic day, both on the cruise part, as well as the bus journey each way with Ian. We saw dolphins, fir seals and Kea birds during the tour. Would highly recommend booking with Luxe Tours!

5.00We recently took the Luxe Milford Sound Full-Day Tour from Te Anau, and overall, it was a wonderful experience, thanks to our fantastic guide, Ian. He drove with great care and confidence along the stunning (and winding!) Milford Road, making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. He stopped at the best photo spots and shared interesting, informative details about the history, geology, and wildlife of Fiordland. We appreciated how relaxed and well-paced the day felt. The Milford Sound cruise itself was affected by low clouds, which made visibility quite sketchy at times, and there was a lot of wind and rain. That said, whenever there were breaks in the weather, the views opened up to reveal some truly lovely waterfalls cascading down the cliff. The weather is just part of Milford's magic. Despite the moody conditions, the overall tour felt special and luxurious. The small group size, comfortable transport, and Ian's attentive guiding made it a standout experience. Highly recommend Luxe Tours if you're heading to Milford Sound from Te Anau.

5.00Today I experienced the most genial and professional tour I have ever had! We were a group of 12, plus our driver Toby. He was professional, knowledgable, funny and thoughtful. The van was beautifully appointed and comfortable, with great attention to detail. He took us to a range of places along the way to Milford Sound, and his informative dialogue catered for all interests. He seemed genuinely interested in everyone, and very keen to ensure everyone was well catered for. I would thoroughly recommend and encourage others to participate in this tour.

5.00We had a great tour with Toby. We were picked up promptly at our Airbnb. The group was very small (13) and the van was super comfortable. Toby gave great commentary on the drive there, with many stops to get out and enjoy the scenery along the way. Tea and muffins on one of the stops were great! We learned a lot about the history of the area and the people. We were taken to the cruise terminal and guided to our cruise boat. There was an area of the boat dedicated to the tour and our chosen meals were provided there. The pies were great! The cruise was wonderful. We had the good fortune of a beautiful day and were able to spot a penguin and two seals. We were met by Toby in the terminal again and had a peaceful ride back to our Airbnb. After several weeks of driving around New Zealand ourselves it was really nice to turn the driving over to someone else and just enjoy the scenery. We really enjoyed the trip and would highly recommend Luxe Tours for the Milford Sound experience. The water bottle takeaway was a nice touch too. Thanks Toby!

5.00The best tour guide we’ve ever had! Nikki was an absolutely amazing guide - super knowledgeable, a safe driver and she went above and beyond to make sure our experience was seamless and fun. We had two little ones with us and my 3 year old won’t stop talking about Nikki. The bus is comfy, spacious and overall really well organised. Loved it!
