Great trip- well worth it- the ride was smooth, our driver Keith was extremely knowledgeable, the bus ride out was as beautiful as the boat ride on the sound.

Loved the entire trip - as a solo traveller for the day all the instructions and information was easy and helpful to understand. Loved the little stops along the way and the picnic lunch was well worth the extra- got sandwiches, crisps, cookies, apple, cheese and crackers. Definitely recommend the 0630am start and was dropped off in town by 1900.

  • Incredible vistas on a modern boat.

Breathtaking views of the fjords and waterfalls. The several hour bus ride from Queenstown to get there goes through many different vistas and landmarks. Well worth the trip. Do not leave New Zealand without going on this trip.

This was my favorite experience in NZ! Milford Sound is breathtakingly beautiful. I have never seen such wondrous sights and they are all available on this excursion. We even lucked out and saw a Kea sitting in the middle of the road. Our guide, Keith, was incredibly knowledgeable and made an amazing trip even better. If you only have time for one tour in the southern island, run, don't walk to take this tour.

  • Milford Sound itself was...

Milford Sound itself was amazing. It should have been relaxing to marvel at nature's magnificence but the cruise/boat is the one I'm giving a fair rating. It wasn't enough time to board and line up for the included buffet that we couldn't listen well to the captain who already started the tour/boat. If you could imagine trying to balance a food tray for yourself and a geriatric family member while the boat is swaying + trying to find an empty seat/table. There were a lot of other groups some of which had a set/packed lunch box with their package tour (?) who got seated first. The boarding should have been more organized and systematic. The ones who had buffet with their package were rushed and weren't able to fully enjoy the beginning of the tour.
