We departure from Quito 7:00 am heading to the occident side of the city. We will have a busy day with some physical exercise & hiking.
Our first stop will be at a hummingbirds sanctuary good experience and close view to tons of types of hummingbirds.
Second stop: Alternative traditional breakfast
Our next stop: MINDO! our main cloud forest city. Once there we will head straight to the Cable car (Tarabita) to cross with amazing views of this cloud forest. Once in the other side, we will have a 40 minutes hiking to the Mindo Nambillo waterfall. Place where you will be able to swim and fresh up from the hiking trail. So bring a bathing suit and towel if interested.
After this, we can choose one alternative option, butterflies sanctuary or chocolate factory, Zipline (Tickets not included)
To take advantage of the day we highly recommend the breakfast or bringing a box lunch to avoid missing time in the activities.
After this we will start the way back to Quito

5.00If you are visiting Quito, this tour is a must!! Jose was such an amazing guide, super knowledgeable and a fantastic conversationalist. From the ride to Mindo and back we had great discussions and he went into great detail about the Mindo region and Ecuador itself. As for the tour itself, I experienced things I had never seen in my life. The hummingbirds, the massive butterflies, walking through the cloud forest to get to hidden waterfalls, ziplining and much much more. There are many other additional add-ons that you can choose from which make this a very customizable experience. Keep up the fantastic work you do and I truly appreciated the effort put into this excursion.

5.00Jose was amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable - he spent the day explaining Ecuador, his life, and Mindo. We had a wonderful time talking to him all day and he drove us to all the spots well. The hummingbird sanctuary was amazing and the butterfly sanctuary as well. I highly recommend the chocolate tour afterwards. The hike was hilly, but well worth it!

5.00Jose was our private guide and completely made our experience one to remember. Hotel pickup followed by a large ecuadorian breakfast (and coffee if you like!) then really the day is up to you! We stopped at a humming bird sanctuary and then a butterfly sanctuary before heading into Mindo Cloud Forest proper. Once there we treked to several waterfalls before it was time to head back!! Then some zip lining before heading to Yumbos Chocolate for a private chocolate experience. All while having great and informative conversations with Jose!

5.00really nice tour the breakfast place food and view were both great. The hummingbirds were so active and pretty and even came to drink from our hands a view times! We also really enjoyed the hike. It was challenging enough and the waterfalls were really pretty as well. We skipped the zip line due to rain, but the cable car made up for it with similar views. Lastly, the chocolate factory was very informative and honestly some of the best chocolate I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend trying the brownie. Jose was also great, very nice and knowledgeable

5.00A great trip. The Hummingbird sanctuary was great. Thrill to see them up close and drinking right out of your hand. The hike to the 5 waterfalls was a good trek. It is not an easy hike but definitely enjoyable. Water was chilly but refreshing. Cable car over had fabulous views. Our guide Jose was great. Good conversation and very flexible in the itinerary.

5.00Jose is a most knowledgeable and friendly guide, and his tour is fantastic. He shaped our day together around our interests and made sure we were comfortable with all our options. We packed a lot in during our day, and Jose never rushed us. We got to see so much of Mindo and all the special places and people to enjoy this day of exploration. We hope to book another day with Jose while we are in Quito.

5.00Our tour guide arranged experiences based on our wants and what would work best for us. Started with a breakfast in a cloud Forrest and traditional Ecuadorian food (our allergies were taken into an account), then feeding hummingbirds, ziplining, etc. we skipped a waterfall hike as it was raining and also having older grandparent, but we went to a chocolate factory and had great time! Our tour guide and driver was amazing in ensuring we were comfortable and also taking stops a long the way to take pictures. Highly recommend this tour and especially booking with footprint journeys!

5.00We had a wonderful time w Jose. He was fantastic. He picked us up right at the door. Hand feeding hummingbirds was amazing. The trip was beautiful and curated just for us. We never felt rushed and really felt like we had the freedom to do what we liked at our pace. Highly recommended. Thank you, Jose.

5.00You will not regret booking this tour. It was unique, beautiful and it was the best tour I have booked so far. Jose was my guide, he was knowledgeable and we discussed the culture and beauty of Quito and surrounding area. I wish I’d met him before my trip here, he gave me so many recommendations that I will have to come back. The Hummingbirds were incredible I didn’t want to leave. Then the butterflies was a nice place to sit, watch and relax, followed by the cable car (amazing) and hike which I did to the third waterfall and went in for a swim. It was a long day with convenience stops on the way that Jose made. Jose also recorded I do the zip lining (canopy)… blew me away! Such beauty, so glad I did it. 10/10 would recommend and will come back to do all this. Thank you Jose!!!

5.00We had a great day with Jose. After an Ecuadorian breakfast and fee ding hummingbirds and butterflies, we travelled to the rainforest for a sky ride and intense waterfall hike. It wasn't easy, but it was beautiful. We did trail #3 and at a quick pace without swimming, it took us 90 minutes. Take water and expect to sweat. Wear a swimsuit if you wa nt to cool off in a waterfall. We only got our feet wet. We didn't take a dvantage of the zipilne option because we were tired and had zip line d in other places. We finished the day with a tour of a chocolate com pany full of tastings and information. Jose was very informative on th e drive but left us to do our thing throughout the day once he got us started. I love when others organize the day so this is a perfect optio n for someone that wants to be picked up and taken to the adventur e. My husband and I and our 22 year old son had fun. We left the hot el at 7 a.m. and returned around 6 p.m. We are outdoorsy but if stairs and hills up and down are a lot for you, you may want a different trip. I picked this trip bc it had everything we wanted including a pickup fr om our hotel. It turned out to be a great choice.
