Every evening we use the latest weather update to choose the area around Tromso with best chances for clear skies.
At 7 pm, we pick you up outside main entrance of Radisson Blu Hotel and walk you 100 meters to our office where we show you the proper Aurora/night photography settings on your camera/mobile phone.
Then we give you warm overalls and boots, and drive you straight to the best spot. Some nights the Aurora is visible as soon as we arrive, while other evenings we relax with coffee and muffins while we wait for her.
Pick up time: 7 pm

Number of participants: 8 per minivan (up to 4 minivans on busy nights)

5.00Francisco is a very knowledgable and more importantly, honest gentleman! We had originally booked for a different day but he recommended that we push the tour to the next day if possible as the chances of Aurora is significantly higher the next day. And what an advice it turned out to be!! We had phenomenal aurora sighting that left us awestruck for almost an hour! Definitely recommend booking a tour here. And kudos to our guide/driver - Mateus, he was super helpful!

5.00Wonderful experience. Started with briefing about auroras in the situation room where the science and weather are explained. Mateus was a friendly and awesome driver and guide. Very quick to detect aurora sightings and very helpful with taking pictures. His attenpts to help find toilets for the female members in the group are super appreciated even though no toilets were found going north of Tromsø.

5.00Andis was first class, really knowledgable and informative, friendly and helpful! It wasn’t the best evening as clouds were moving in fast but we managed to find some great auroras and took some amazing photographs! Green Gold are real experts at what they do, I strongly recommend them!

5.00The tour was amazing because we were incredibly lucky with a strong forecast. Mat our guide took us straight to a location with stars and they appeared dancing across the sky. Two more locations afterwards were also lucky to see them. They sent through all the photos the very next day from the tour. Highly recommend

2.00They took us where the northern lights are and thats it, the bus stopped on a very slippery point and we couldnt even walk and look at the sky. I fell on the ice and noone was interested.

5.00Our tour(not this one) cancelled in last minute because they expect no northern lights. And i found this in the last minute. They show us very cool scientific data before and they tried, and they worked hard to get us to the lights. And they got it! Very thankful!

1.00Tour completely different from what was promised: no real aurora hunting, only time lost between unnecessary stops. Disinterested and unprofessional driving. Disappointing experience, they made fun of us. I absolutely do not recommend it.

5.00It was simply one of the most extraordinary experience of my life..seeing the dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis in the cold Artic winters was something I had planned for ages but experiencing it with a cloud free and relatively good viewing condition on the 20th of Feb 26 near Tromso was another level .The experience was elevated further with Fransico Damm( the business owner of the Green Gold of Norway) as he enthusiastically took us from one isolated place to another to get a very good view of the Aurora's.Some even over the Fjords ,where we could see the reflection of the sky in the water. The enthusiasm with which he lay down in the snow to take photos from different angles just rubbed off on all us. This ,along with his vast knowledge on Aurora made made the Aurora Viewing experience very very special..It was clear he had studied all the predictions (of the Aurora sightings)from different sites scientifically before starting the trip.Would highly recommend Green Gold of Norway for Aurora Viewing Trips.
