You will start your safari from your hotel in Sigiriya at 14:00. Your safari jeep will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Minneriya National Park. The safari adventure will begin at around 15:00. The park has a variety of land types and growth. Wetlands mix with agricultural land, rocky outcrops, forests, and scrublands. This diversity means the wildlife and birds in the park are quite varied. You may spot a crocodile or even the extremely rare grey slender loris if you’re lucky. A small herd of deer may visit the Minneriya reservoir in the morning. If you plan your safari for the months of August, September, or October, you may have the chance to see the 'Elephant Gathering,' with over 150 elephants coming together in one place. It is said that the elephants arrive from all surrounding areas for this annual event. During the evening safari, which is the best time to see the park, you can watch the elephants take their daily bath and see various kinds of birds heading off to their nests at the end of the day. After the safari, you will return to your hotel by 19:00, completing your tour.
