Walvis Bay Waterfront
The day starts with check-in - 8h30 at our Walvis Bay Waterfront Offices - to start the Marine Dolphin Cruise at 9h00. You'll receive a boarding pass and all boats depart from the Waterfront Jetty (in front of our office). The Marine Dolphin Cruise proceeds through the Lagoon area, oyster farms all the way to Pelican Point. Here you will be welcomed by the impressive 70 000 plus Cape Fur Seal Colony and the landmark Pelican Point Lighthouse. Throughout our informative guides will entertain you in English, Afrikaans, Dutch and German. Common sightings include Bottlenose and Heavyside Dolphins, Cape Fur Seals, Flamingos, Pelicans, Mola Molas, penguins and Humpback & Southern Right Whales (August-November). The return cruise to the Waterfront will include a light lunch, fresh Walvis Bay oysters, sparkling wine, beverages and bottled water. After disembarking from The Marine Dolphin Cruise guests usually have about 20 mins break before the 4×4 depart .
The journey to Sandwich Harbour starts with a stop at the Walvis Bay Lagoon to view the flamingos and then proceeds to the Kuiseb River Delta through the Walvis Bay Saltpans. The Sandwich Harbour Lagoon, and it's rich wetlands, is a Ramsar site (one of five in Namibia) and we always try to reach it via the beach. There are various stops and ample opportunity for some breathtaking photos. One of the stops also includes some light snacks, homemade bakes, beverages and sparkling wine. Some common sightings include animals that are desert adapted like the black-backed jackal, fog-basking beetle, dancing spider (‘white lady of the Namib’), golden mole, Springbok, Oryx, ostrich, brown hyena and gecko. The Lagoon and Saltpans are home to large variety of waders. This is a full day excursion and our vehicles usually only return after 17h30 allowing the for the full utilisation of the golden sunset.

This was a great experience! The day started with a boat tour where seal and pelican friends literally jump on the boat with you. Then you ride out to see the smelly and loud seal colony and you get some oysters and snacks/bubbly/drinks on the boat. The second part was even better in my opinion, as you explore the sand dunes by car with plenty of photo opps along the way. The tour guides were very kind and personable. It was a fun time overall!

This was such a good day. We started with the catamaran cruise and the crew (Cody, Vian and Leandri - hope I’ve remembered the names correctly!) were fantastic. We saw seals, pelicans (unexpected passengers on our boat!), humpback whales, and dolphins. They were mindful about not going too near the wild animals unlike some other chartered boats (Miandri I’m looking at you). We had amazingly fresh oysters on the way back as well. The second half of the day was the 4x4 dune ride: unfortunately can’t remember our guide’s name but he was amazing, and rode the dunes like a boss. He was very knowledgeable about the area and took us to exceptional viewpoints where we could take some amazing photos. I remember he said he was originally from north of Etosha and had come to Walvis Bay for uni. The whole day was unforgettable. The only thing that was mildly disappointing was that we were expecting a lunchtime braai which we saw from the reviews/ photos but didn’t realise that was a different tour.

The whole day was amazing. We spotted seals, dolphins and a waffle in the morning. Sandwich harbor was unbelievable and Peter, our driver, was the best!

This was one of the best experiences we had in Namibia. We started the day with the boat tour in the morning where we saw whales, dolphins, pelicans, seals, and then the sand dune adventure in the afternoon. Mola Mola costs more than other tours because the experience is more premium. The staff is energetic, warm, and very professional. Definitely recommend!

Excellent!!! It was far beyond our expectations. We joined in Marine-Dune-Day on June 7th, which was an incredible and unforgettable experience. Although we didn’t see any whales or dophins, it was still full of fun. We really enjoyed the moments that we rushed down the dunes by vechile and felt like rollercoasters. By the way, it was our first time to walk down the dune, which laid a good foundation for climbing the Big Daddy 3 days later. Besides, the guides were good at cracking jokes, making us laugh all the time. And the snacks were tasty as well. Highly recommended!
