Explore the natural wonders of Molokini Crater, a volcanic islet 3 miles (4.8 km) off the coast of Maui, on this snorkeling tour from Maalaea. Surrounded by clear tropical waters, this extinct cone is home to many species of marine life, such as fish, sea urchins, sharks, manta rays, and coral. Molokini is a marine preserve, meaning nothing can be disturbed, keeping the island and underwater environment pristine. You'll also explore Turtle Town, and admire native birds. Two water slides, a glass bottom viewing room, and a "leap of faith" are also available if you don't want to snorkel or finish early. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, soda, and juice are included.

Wheelchair accessible. Motorized wheelchairs and electric scooters are not able to be accommodated. Manual wheelchairs are allowed up to a maximum width of 28". Personal weight restriction of approximately 280 pounds due to the ramp configuration and ability of crew to assist in boarding the wheelchair with the occupant.
What To Expect
A tour with the Calypso is one of the most fun on Maui! This stable, high-speed, triple-decker catamaran will get you to two snorkel sites fast: Molokini Crater and Turtle Town, and with all the equipment you need and plenty of food on board, what more could you ask for? The Calypso leaves from Ma’alaea Harbor, and after you are welcomed aboard by your friendly crew, you can take a look at the delicious continental breakfast. After everyone is settled in, it’s off to the most popular underwater destination in Maui for some Molokini snorkeling! While you are enjoying the feel of the ocean wind in your hair. Molokini Crater is located between the islands of Maui and Kaho’olawe. This beautiful site is not only home to several fish species, but many species of birds, as well! The crater is a designated Marine Life Conservation District and bird preserve, so no fishing or climbing on the crater is allowed, but wearing flippers and a mask to watch the fish is perfectly wonderful. After your Molokini snorkeling, Calypso will whisk you to Turtle Town – a second snorkeling spot. Off the south side of Maui, Turtle Town is home to several large sea turtles as well as dynamic reef fish.

1.00Unfortunately. I can’t give less than 1 star. It was a disappointing experience, and I would not recommend booking a tour with this company. I spoke with the crew beforehand and arrived on time as agreed, yet my family was left behind at the parking lot. My children were left distressed, waving their hands and crying as they tried to board the cruise, but they departed without them. on the boat. To make matters worse, the company has not refunded the $620 worth of tickets despite the situation.

5.00Great option with the family. Water was colder than I expected. LOTS of people on the tour. Ask the photographer for a video of you swimming or something. Wish we had requested. Watch her examples she has on the TV and get an idea of options. Bar mixed drinks were cheap, but strong!! All in all, I recommend!

4.00Try to get there early so you have a choice of where to sit on the boat. It is pretty crowded. We got an outside seat, which would have been fine except it was raining. They provided many snacks and food. The crew was very attentive to our needs. Easy to get on and off for snorkeling. The equipment was great. Very well organized. Overall a great trip. Good for little kids as well.

5.00Such a great experience start to finish! The calypso crew was friendly, helpful and efficient. They made everything easy, boarding was quick, the crew explained the equipment thoroughly and were very helpful. The snorkeling at Molokini was beautiful and clear. It felt a bit crowded at times in the water but with a large group that’s expected. The crew even helped novice swimmers have a wonderful experience. The food choices were very healthy and delicious and food was served quickly. Everything was just great and even with poor snorkel conditions at the second site, the captain made sure folks saw turtles. Cannot recommend this tour and experience enough.
