Explore the natural wonders of Molokini Crater, a volcanic islet 3 miles (4.8 km) off the coast of Maui, on this snorkeling tour from Maalaea. Surrounded by clear tropical waters, this extinct cone is home to many species of marine life, such as fish, sea urchins, sharks, manta rays, and coral. Molokini is a marine preserve, meaning nothing can be disturbed, keeping the island and underwater environment pristine. You'll also explore Turtle Town, and admire native birds. Two water slides, a glass bottom viewing room, and a "leap of faith" are also available if you don't want to snorkel or finish early. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, soda, and juice are included.

Wheelchair accessible. Motorized wheelchairs and electric scooters are not able to be accommodated. Manual wheelchairs are allowed up to a maximum width of 28". Personal weight restriction of approximately 280 pounds due to the ramp configuration and ability of crew to assist in boarding the wheelchair with the occupant.

What To Expect
A tour with the Calypso is one of the most fun on Maui! This stable, high-speed, triple-decker catamaran will get you to two snorkel sites fast: Molokini Crater and Turtle Town, and with all the equipment you need and plenty of food on board, what more could you ask for? The Calypso leaves from Ma’alaea Harbor, and after you are welcomed aboard by your friendly crew, you can take a look at the delicious continental breakfast. After everyone is settled in, it’s off to the most popular underwater destination in Maui for some Molokini snorkeling! While you are enjoying the feel of the ocean wind in your hair. Molokini Crater is located between the islands of Maui and Kaho’olawe. This beautiful site is not only home to several fish species, but many species of birds, as well! The crater is a designated Marine Life Conservation District and bird preserve, so no fishing or climbing on the crater is allowed, but wearing flippers and a mask to watch the fish is perfectly wonderful. After your Molokini snorkeling, Calypso will whisk you to Turtle Town – a second snorkeling spot. Off the south side of Maui, Turtle Town is home to several large sea turtles as well as dynamic reef fish.

5.00Great day out on the water in Feb 2026! The crew was organized, rehearsed and were knowledgeable. The snorkelling was fun, the breakfast and lunch was good. The big bonus was the added whale watching during peak humpback season. Great value and chance to get offshore!

5.00What a great tour Turtle Bay & Molokini snorkeling. Awesome whale watching. Crew was great all around just outstanding. Super Kool was definitely a highlight on Maui. Food & Drinks were also great breakfast and lunch with snacks.

4.00Staff was amazing! Unfortunately we couldn’t go to the turtle snorkeling area, but were treated to a lot of whales performing for us! The only complaint I have is the number of misbehaved kids on board which took away from the experience.

5.00They were freaking awesome. The staff was really engaging and helpful. They thought about people’s needs before they even asked, they were actively looking to help. We had a couple kids with us who were 2 and 4 and they helped with getting them set up for snorkeling and riding the little board things that kids could use. We saw them go out of their way to help plenty of other people as well. The boat was quite nice with tons of options out in the sun or indoors. We did not get to go see the turtles due to weather, they have zero control over that happening. We did get to do extra whale watching and saw several moms with their babies out in the water and that was way cool. I have never gone snorkeling before this and it was pretty dope, we will definitely be doing this again. It makes me want to become scuba certified. I had no idea this was something I would even be interested in. Thanks for the experience and the thoughtfulness of the staff!💕

4.00The crew was friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable. On our way to the snorkeling spot we saw many, many whales and had to stop several times to let them cross our path (oh darn😀). There were not as may varieties of fish as I’d hoped but the landscape of the ocean floor was beautiful.

5.00My husband and I did the Molokini trip. The boat itself was amazing and comfortable. We sat on the top deck and had the most amazing view. The crew you had working on January 22nd knocked it out of the park. They were extremely informative, friendly, and very helpful. The food was good and you could get a snack at anytime which was nice. The crew walked around offering water making sure everyone stayed hydrated. We asked the underwater photographer Ryan to capture us as we knew we would want photos to treasure forever. Ryan got fabulous underwater photos and video. Everything turned out wonderful. Ryan was so patient and took his time with us making sure we got the images we wanted. The entire crew was fun to talk to and made sure everyone felt safe and had what they needed during the entire trip. They helped us spot whales, fish, turtles, and even a monk seal showed up the day of our trip. It was a fantastic adventure and thanks to the Calypso Crew and professional underwater photographer Ryan Wickersheim it was a day we will always cherish.

5.00Fantastic trip and even better crew! This crew gave 100% all the time to make sure everyone was safe and having fun. Usually there are 1 or 2 people that stand out and add to the enjoyment, but each and every one of them did! The equipment was nice and well maintained, the boat was well maintained and comfortable as well. Highly recommend using this company for any snorkeling trips you want at Maui!
