Explore the natural wonders of Molokini Crater, a volcanic islet 3 miles (4.8 km) off the coast of Maui, on this snorkeling tour from Maalaea. Surrounded by clear tropical waters, this extinct cone is home to many species of marine life, such as fish, sea urchins, sharks, manta rays, and coral. Molokini is a marine preserve, meaning nothing can be disturbed, keeping the island and underwater environment pristine. You'll also explore Turtle Town, and admire native birds. Two water slides, a glass bottom viewing room, and a "leap of faith" are also available if you don't want to snorkel or finish early. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, soda, and juice are included.

Wheelchair accessible. Motorized wheelchairs and electric scooters are not able to be accommodated. Manual wheelchairs are allowed up to a maximum width of 28". Personal weight restriction of approximately 280 pounds due to the ramp configuration and ability of crew to assist in boarding the wheelchair with the occupant.

What To Expect
A tour with the Calypso is one of the most fun on Maui! This stable, high-speed, triple-decker catamaran will get you to two snorkel sites fast: Molokini Crater and Turtle Town, and with all the equipment you need and plenty of food on board, what more could you ask for? The Calypso leaves from Ma’alaea Harbor, and after you are welcomed aboard by your friendly crew, you can take a look at the delicious continental breakfast. After everyone is settled in, it’s off to the most popular underwater destination in Maui for some Molokini snorkeling! While you are enjoying the feel of the ocean wind in your hair. Molokini Crater is located between the islands of Maui and Kaho’olawe. This beautiful site is not only home to several fish species, but many species of birds, as well! The crater is a designated Marine Life Conservation District and bird preserve, so no fishing or climbing on the crater is allowed, but wearing flippers and a mask to watch the fish is perfectly wonderful. After your Molokini snorkeling, Calypso will whisk you to Turtle Town – a second snorkeling spot. Off the south side of Maui, Turtle Town is home to several large sea turtles as well as dynamic reef fish.

5.00We have been on several snorkeling boats with many crews. This crew works like a well oiled machine. Everyone seems to know their jobs and moves quickly to achieve each chore. The food was tasty and plenty. Better than others I have had on tours. I liked that the booze was not flowing freely(you paid for alcoholic drinks). Lots of families with kids on the boat. They had plenty of snorkel equipment for everyone. I have never had a wetsuit available for my use($10/rental fee). Photographer took lots of water photos of my grandson! The boat has 8 sets of stairs off back of boat which makes getting off and on boat quicker for everyone. After snorkeling the crater the captain took us whale watching and found many whales to observe. The boat is 3 layers with terrific seating options which have little individual tables for food and drink at each seat. It has a large slide in front of boat and a smaller one at the back which the kids got to go down over and over again! This excursion was undoubtedly the best of our trip! Would definitely recommend and go again!

5.00We had a great time! Be sure to read your ticket carefully, you will need to arrive 30 minutes earlier than your ticket says. Also don’t forget to pay for parking. We had a great time. The staff was extremely pleasant, helpful, and all smiles. My kids greatly enjoyed snorkeling. They also enjoyed the slides. When you first arrive at Molokini it’s NUTS. Wall to wall people. Maybe wait 30 minutes and then go out. Crowd gets tired of snorkeling quickly. We did not get to go to turtle town bc the storm made all of the shores full of brown ware and poor visibility. I’ve done turtle town 13 years ago and it was an amazing a memorable experience. Instead we chased whales, and we saw some male whales fighting. Lots of whale spotting. Food was good; cheapest drinks on the island. Crew ran it efficiently.

5.00Captain and Staff were awesome! The boat is very accommodating and the jumping platform and slides were a nice addition to snorkeling. The food and beverages were good. The whales were very active during our trip so the Captain made sure we had some amazing whale encounters also. This is my second trip on Calypso and highly recommend it.

5.00This was a great day trip. Very relaxing, everything you need is provided (for a small fee). Great crew on the Calypso. Very Family friendly tour. We saw a lot of turtles and lots of whales! Snorkeling in a caldera is pretty epic!
