This stable, high-speed, triple-decker catamaran will get you to two snorkel sites fast: Molokini Crater and Turtle Town, and with all the equipment you need and plenty of food on board, what more could you ask for? The Calypso leaves from Ma’alaea Harbor, and after you are welcomed aboard by your friendly crew, you can take a look at the delicious continental breakfast. After everyone is settled in, it’s off to the most popular underwater destination in Maui for some Molokini snorkeling! While you are enjoying the feel of the ocean wind in your hair. Molokini Crater is located between the islands of Maui and Kaho’olawe. This beautiful site is not only home to several fish species, but many species of birds, as well! The crater is a designated Marine Life Conservation District and bird preserve, so no fishing or climbing on the crater is allowed, but wearing flippers and a mask to watch the fish is perfectly wonderful. Off the south side of Maui, Turtle Town is home to several large sea turtles as well as dynamic reef fish.

The crew was friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable. On our way to the snorkeling spot we saw many, many whales and had to stop several times to let them cross our path (oh darn😀). There were not as may varieties of fish as I’d hoped but the landscape of the ocean floor was beautiful.

My husband and I did the Molokini trip. The boat itself was amazing and comfortable. We sat on the top deck and had the most amazing view. The crew you had working on January 22nd knocked it out of the park. They were extremely informative, friendly, and very helpful. The food was good and you could get a snack at anytime which was nice. The crew walked around offering water making sure everyone stayed hydrated. We asked the underwater photographer Ryan to capture us as we knew we would want photos to treasure forever. Ryan got fabulous underwater photos and video. Everything turned out wonderful. Ryan was so patient and took his time with us making sure we got the images we wanted. The entire crew was fun to talk to and made sure everyone felt safe and had what they needed during the entire trip. They helped us spot whales, fish, turtles, and even a monk seal showed up the day of our trip. It was a fantastic adventure and thanks to the Calypso Crew and professional underwater photographer Ryan Wickersheim it was a day we will always cherish.

Fantastic trip and even better crew! This crew gave 100% all the time to make sure everyone was safe and having fun. Usually there are 1 or 2 people that stand out and add to the enjoyment, but each and every one of them did! The equipment was nice and well maintained, the boat was well maintained and comfortable as well. Highly recommend using this company for any snorkeling trips you want at Maui!

Was a great day! I was terrified of the ocean and actually snorkelling. I was in tears before I hit the water at turtle town. But this was an experience I wanted to have. It was incredible. I felt comfortable and safe the entire time. All the crew members were kind and helpful. Captain Chad (if I remember his name correctly) allowed me to come up and see his space. Crew member Ky was so kind, helpful and encouraging. This experience was great. So much so I went snorkelling again before I left Maui. The added plus of getting breakfast and lunch was great. Didn’t need to think about food. Drinks that were for purchase on board were good. They had two crew members with boards in the water and multiple on the boat watching. Crew communicated with Walkie Talkies and kept everyone safe. Great of beginners!

We had the BEST time on this excursion! The communication prior to the day was great. The boat was clean and not cramped. The food was really good as well. We went snorkeling at Molokini & then Turtle Bay and then went whale watching. I'd like to note that we have been on a few snorkeling excursions (not in Maui) & this experience far exceeded any of the others. The entire crew was absolutely fantastic! They were very nice, informative and funny, too! My daughter had a issue with her face burning from something in the water & David took such great care of her. Getting her fresh water to rinse her face in the bathroom & a bag of ice to calm it down. Ryan also stood out - he was taking photos & videos. He never had anything but a smile on his face! We plan to return to Maui next year, as this was our kids favorite vacation so far, and we will 100% be doing this excursion again. With any luck, the same crew will be on board :)

The best snorkel experience on the island. This tour is extremely well-run, with friendly staff and a very comfortable boat. The captain and crew were very informative and there was plenty of food available during the tour. We went with a 9 year old and 12 year old and it felt very safe. There were 3 lifeguards on duty at all times and they were very proactive keeping an eye out for us. Can’t recommend this tour enough for families.

This is a fabulous and fun excursion! Calypso and their crew were very attentive and so helpful. The photographer ensured that each passenger was included in action shots. Thank you!! The captain and first mate are outstanding and the crew provided informative historical background about the islands, the marine life and culture. An unexpected monk seal swam into the snorkelers and I got to see him and his whiskers in front of me.

Great crew, explained everything that we needed and why. Very efficient. Delicious breakfast. Snacks and also lunch. Teenage kids ate with no complaints. Very helpful with the snorkeling in and out of the boat just all around a good experience for all. We also got to see whale on our snorkeling tour and the captain explained why the whales did what they did so that was very helpful good information.

We went on the Sunset Dinner Cruise not the snorkeling trip. It was fabulous and fantastic! The crew was delightful. The dinner was good and the evening was unforgettable, beautiful! I thank my lucky stars that the ticket lady on the Maui-Lanai ferry was so unpleasant because I never would have gotten to experience the Calypso dinner cruise. Don’t miss this one! Pass on the ferry and go for the cruise at slip 76.
