Vieux Eze
En route to Monaco, make a first stop to discover the medieval village of Eze, one of the most picturesque sites of the French Riviera. Dating from the Middle Ages, the village was built on top of the rocky outcrop for security reasons. The walls of the twelfth century will be dismantled in 1706 by order of Louis XIV. Take the cobbled streets and reach the top where you can find today the exotic garden and the castle ruins, the view is amazing (1,400 ft / 427 meters high). Stop to discover the process of perfume at the perfum factory Fragonard.
La Turbie
Go through the village of La Turbie, also called the "Monaco terrace" because of the panoramic view of the Principality of Monaco. Admire the ruins of an imposing monument (164 ft/ 50 meters high) : the Trophy of the Alps, dedicated to the Emperor Augustus, built 7 BC on the road that linked Italy to Cimiez (the Roman Quarter Nice) longtime ago.

The La Turbie stop was not included in our tour. No explanation as to why. We arrived in Eve before most stores opened at 10 so just pay the 8 euros to visit the garden at the top for the view. Adorable village to walk around. Skip shopping at Fragonard so you have enough time to see the changing of the guard at Monaco which we missed because our tour guide did not emphasize the timing early and we could have cut time at other stops. Monaco garden is worth walking through. You will not have time to visit the aquarium. If you want to see the casino, get in line as soon as you arrive. It can be very long and they use a security wand on everyone. High end cars (RR, Bentley, Ferrari, Bugatti) are often parked in front of the hotel and casino. You can take pictures of the cars, but they do have signs around saying do not take pictures of hotel or casino guests. Our guide spoke too softly in the car so the people in the back had a hard time hearing his explanations as he drove. He shared very little information unless prompted by our questions. He was more of a driver, not a guide. I would look for a different tour that skipped the perfume factory so you have more time in Monaco and Monte Carlo. About 2 hours of the 7 is spent driving.

Both my husband and I had a great time. We were given enough time to explore and have lunch! My husband mistakenly left his credit card in the van and Alex drove back to our hotel to return it, very grateful for his kindness.

Great day with the Mac guide , very nice and an information encyclopedia. However, a visit DE the perfumery would not be necessary. More DE time in Monaco would be nice
