Castello di Carlo V
Located near the port, Charles V Castle is a fortress built in 1500 to defend the city from attacks by sea. From the sea, the castle looks impressive with its thick walls and corner towers overlooking the coast. Its strategic location allowed to control maritime traffic and protect the port. Today the castle hosts cultural events and exhibitions, but its view from the sea remains one of the most fascinating points of Monopoli, which tells centuries of defensive and maritime history.
Basilica Cattedrale Maria Santissima della Madia
Located in the heart of Monopoli's historic center, the cathedral is one of the city's most important religious buildings. Built in 1107, it features a fusion of Romanesque and Baroque styles. The cathedral is famous for its decorated coffered ceiling and marble high altar. A fascinating aspect of the cathedral is the legend of the Madonna della Madia, whose icon was miraculously found on a wooden beam floating in the sea. From the sea, its dome is visible from afar and represents a significant landmark in the Monopoli skyline.

1.00After confirming the day before and driving 30 minutes plus another 30 minute walk to the designated meeting place. No boat, when I inquired via eamil was told excursion had been canceled with no notice or explanation. Very disappointed.
Monopoli boat trip This was a great way to spend 2-3 hours. Eight of us looked after by Jana and Nick. Would recommend.

4.00Lovely boat trip. We had booked the 6pm trip but this was cancelled and rearranged to 3.30. Not a problem for us but could have been for others. The boat was small and a bit squashed. The swimming was lovely and we had lots of Prosecco. Yana and Nikki were great.
Canceĺled due to bad weather which was not their fault.

4.00All communication was good and they seem to visit more places than the other tours from their itinerary. It was not their fault it was cancelled as the sea was too rough. This was the responsible thing to do.
