We happened to be the only family on the morning tour, so we enjoyed a private tour with our sommelier, Luigi. He provided a wealth of insight into the wine making process, effects of soil and climate, as well as regional differences that impact taste and quality. We tasted four wines with local bread, cheese, salami, and pancetta during which Luigi answered our many questions with good humor. The newly renovated tasting room in the deep Etruscan cellars was captivating and added to the experience. We enjoyed the Talosa Reserve and Rossi IGT Pietrose so much we shipped several home. A terrific experience; we highly recommend.

We were very disappointed in our tour (18 Oct - 3:30pm). It was supposed to be an English speaking tour but we couldn’t understand the guy? He talked too fast and we as well as others on the tour were saying we couldn’t understand what he was saying. He kept stepping aside and was texting on his phone a lot too. We would not recommend this wine tour.

The wine tasting was good but I was disappointed that it was not at the winery but in the town. We learned about the difference in the wines and there was not too much pressure to buy into the wine club.

This was a great experience in learning about the history and process of winemaking in the region. Ettore, our guide was excellent at explaining different soils and grape varieties in how they produce certain vintages. Tastings were excellent, plate of salumi, formaggio e pane went well with the wine. The only thing that would have made it 5 stars, would have been a trip to the vineyard, which they are working on.
