The 4 of us found this Montserrat visit to be the high point of our stay in Barcelona. We range in age from 66 to 79, and all of us enjoyed the tour and the hike led by Ferran, who is a wonderful guide. He provided just the right balance of informative talk and silence, both on the pleasant & comfortable hour long drive and during the Montserrat visit. Highly recommended, reasonably priced and well organized small group (8) tour.

Our half-day Montserrat excursion was a nice way to get outside of the city of Barcelona, get to see a vast view of the Pyrenees Mountains at the northern border of Spain and France, learn about the monastery and its history, and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful weather while being active.

The trip was supposed to be the open air "cable ride" not the venicular ride with each of the 4 cars scrunched, crowded, can't see much passengers.I was under the impresssion we'd be starting the ride near the train station and going up-down the 6 minute ride with 6-8 people inside the 'cable' car,the kind the Swiss people take to get up some mountains, like the one near Lucerne. The views would have been so much better. We could of had time to 'hike' as advertised too.The guide was good but maybe it wasn't fault I guess.
