Montana de Montserrat
The Rocky Massif of Montserrat has been declared as Natural Park in 1987, and characterised by the rounded shape of its peaks. This incredible 4000-foot wonder is easily recognizable by its ''serrated'' top from which it got his name. Once you reach the monastery, you have plenty of options and your guide will always adjust to your interests. We invite you to take an easy walk of around 30 min to enjoy one of the most astonishing views of the natural park, but if you wish you can also decide to enjoy other activities that the mountain offers.
Abadia de Montserrat
Montserrat Basilica, located in the stunning Montserrat mountain range in Catalonia, Spain, is a revered site of pilgrimage and natural beauty. Known for housing the famous statue of the Black Madonna, La Moreneta, the basilica is a significant spiritual and cultural landmark. Its breathtaking setting amidst rocky cliffs offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, making it a popular destination for both worshippers and tourists alike. Visitors can explore the basilica's rich history, beautiful architecture, and serene atmosphere, all while experiencing the spiritual energy that has drawn people since 12th century.

Montserrat is a magical place to visit. It is much more beautiful and awe inspiring in-person. Only down side of this specific tour, our driver didn't give us any highlights of the area as we drove in/out of Barcelona, we pretty much drove in silence. After completing this tour, I would recomment that Montserrat should be booked as a full-day visit so you can experience more trails, the furnicular ride, as well as the museum (which from a quick glance, seemed exceptional). Half-day tour isn't enough time.

Alex was a wonderful guide. He provided a lot of information and history not only about Montserrat Monastery but also about Barcelona itself. The drive to the monastery from our hotel was about an hour and Alex was funny and engaging the entire time. He let us know if customs we were not aware of so as not cause offense, which was much appreciated. I would highly recommend!

Our tour guide Alejandro was very knowledgeable about the Monastery but also mixed in a little humor for a wonderful experience. Although it was not supposed to rain, there was a shower. Alejandro gave my wife his jacket until the rain had stopped. I would recommend this tour and Alejandro to anyone.

Pablo was a very articulate, energetic and knowledgeable tour guide. He was very structured in how he managed time and maintained interest across 4 diverse couples within the group. Will definitely look him up next time we are in Barcelona and need a tour guide.

We took the half day trip and visited the Monastery (the church is beautiful and you can see the Black Madonna from AFAR). This was followed by about 2 hours of free time - we took a hike and visited the market stalls and ate delicious cheese while we strolled. Easily could have spent more time and if you want to see the Black Madonna close up or take the funicular you would. Red more time to do so. Alex was a great guide, provided some history about what we were seeing and took car of all logistics. Communication about times, etc was great.
