What To Expect
Montana de Montserrat
The Rocky Massif of Montserrat has been declared as Natural Park in 1987, and characterised by the rounded shape of its peaks. This incredible 4000-foot wonder is easily recognizable by its ''serrated'' top from which it got his name. Once you reach the monastery, you have plenty of options and your guide will always adjust to your interests. We invite you to take an easy walk of around 30 min to enjoy one of the most astonishing views of the natural park, but if you wish you can also decide to enjoy other activities that the mountain offers.

1.00Booked the tour on the Viator site the itinerary stated that in addition to the basilica the tour included a 15 min funnicular ride to the top of the mountain and a 60 min visit to the museum to see art works from El Greco etc. This is not the tour we got from out of Barcelona tours. I had printed off the itinerary but unfortunately these items were not included in the tour there is obviously a disparity between what Viator say is included and what Out of Barcelona tours deliver. Although seeing some other reviews these items have been included!! Confused! £166 for half a tour..... No contact from Viator or Out of Barcelona tours so be careful when booking....

Perfect Half-Day Montserrat Trip - Matt Made It!

5.00We did the half-day Montserrat tour with hotel pickup and drop-off, and it was a wonderful experience. Our guide Mateus (Matt) was super friendly and bubbly the whole time - he kept the group engaged with great stories about the monastery and the mountain's history without making it feel like a lecture. The hotel pickup was smooth and on time, and being dropped back right at our hotel at the end saved us so much hassle compared to figuring out public transport. Montserrat itself is stunning. The views from the mountain are unreal, and we had about 2 hours of free time to explore the basilica and see La Moreneta, the Black Madonna. Matt gave us a solid overview before letting us wander, which was the perfect balance. Would 100% recommend this tour if you only have half a day in Barcelona and want to see Montserrat without the stress. Matt really made the day.

5.00Very pleasant and comfortable stay. The hotel is located outside the walls around the station. In 15 minutes walk you reach the center. The reception is located in the hotel Martini which is a short walk away. The rooms are on the ground floor of a building where there is also a breakfast room. Our room was renovated, clean, comfortable, quiet, also equipped with a terrace. Very welcome and varied breakfast. All staff are friendly and efficient. Very helpful luggage storage service before check-in and after check-out. Excellent value for money.
