Our guide Jose was excellent and was so passionate about sharing Barcelona and Montserrat - it was a great trip. He made sure we got all of our tour time and extended the day to account for the hour it took to pick up everyone. Two things - first, it took an hour driving around town to pick everyone up. Jose made sure we all had the full time on the tour we paid for, but that also meant the day went much longer than planned. This was no fault of Jose's, but rather the operator that put the group together. Because of the extended timeframe, we were unable to get back into Barcelona in time to have dinner with friends that we had planned. Second, the tour description mentioned being able to taste 4 liquors that are made at the Abby, but it wasn't actually part of the tour and was not free (or included). We were expecting that the tasting was a part of the tour and passed on other sampling opportunities to enjoy Montserrat. The description should really point out that the tasting is not included and is an additional cost. Still, our time with Jose was very rewarding and informative, even with the logistical challenges.

Pick up and drop off at hotel was very convenient. Our guide, Teo, was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. The small group of 8 was nice. Montserrat is beautiful inside and out. Overall, a great experience.

Definitely a worthwhile experience. The black Madonna and monastery are incredible. I recommend that you include an up close visit to the Madonna. It is really difficult to get a picture from below. Our tour guide, Alex was good and knowledgeable about the history. The one improvement we would suggest is a microphone in the vehicle. Sitting in the back, and next to a speaker that had music playing low, we missed much of what he was saying.

It’s a great way to see this area but if you want to do more than one activity like see the museum and hike up the mountain to see the cross, etc. you need the whole day. It was still a wonderful trip.
