The Monserrat tour was a highlight of my trip. The architecture is amazing and our tour guide Alejandro Figueroa was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the tour if you want to explore the area outside of Barcelona.

Alejandro is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing details about Montserrat. He made sure to get us there early before the crowds and ensured we had enough time to explore independently! Going in a small group was great because it felt very personalized and customizable based on our interests! There were 4 travelers total in my group and it was the perfect size for us to access key points at the Monastery complex without feeling crowded.

Alejandro, our guide, announced in advance when exactly he would pick us up at the hotel and was also there exactly at the agreed time. The ride in the comfortable 8 seater was very pleasant, Alejandro answered every question and also stopped for a photo stop. The drive through the mountains is wonderful and in Momserrat there was enough time to either learn more about the history of the place with Alejandro after visiting the basilica, or to go to the summit on our own with the Funiculare - this is only possible in time if there is not too much activity .We let Alejandro tell us the history of the place and answer many questions. The trip we can definitely recommend.Since the tour starts first thing in the morning, we were also there in front of the big coaches!

We booked the Montserrat Monastery small group tour with hotel pick-up, and it was one of the best decisions we made in Barcelona. Marcel (tour guide) was exceptional — truly top-tier. His depth of knowledge about Montserrat was impressive, but what made the experience special was how seamlessly he connected it to the broader history and culture of Barcelona. Even on day two of jet lag, he kept us engaged, entertained, and energized. His kindness and professionalism are rare. He elevated the entire experience. The small group format was perfect. It was just us and one other couple, which allowed for a relaxed pace and meaningful conversation. We debated between this tour and a wine tasting experience, and in hindsight, choosing Montserrat was absolutely the right call. The monastery is breathtaking. The architecture, the mountain setting, and the spiritual atmosphere combine into something unforgettable. We paid the extra €17 to take the train up to the top of the mountain. Do it — but give yourself more time than we did. We only had about 20 minutes at the summit, and one of the main trails takes roughly an hour. That timing mistake was on us. The views alone deserve unhurried space. The local vendors selling honey and cheese near the monastery added a great touch. It felt authentic and relaxed. There was no pressure to buy, and they offered generous samples. The honey and cheese were excellent. Seeing the Black Madonna was powerful, and lighting a candle in the long, glowing corridor filled with hundreds of lit candles was unexpectedly moving. It is one of those experiences that quietly stays with you. Between the scenery, the history, the culture, and Marcel, this tour was 10 out of 10. If you are debating — choose Montserrat. It delivers beauty, depth, and perspective all in one morning.

We were fortunate to do the tour to Montserrat with Alejandro and he really exceeded all our expectations 🤍 From the beginning he was close, professional and extremely prepared. Not only did he share the history and meaning of the place clearly and interestingly, but he gave so much more of himself in the whole experience. It even took us to the viewpoint of the Cross, something that made the tour even more special and memorable. You can tell when someone enjoys what they do and wants their travelers to experience something deeper than just a sightseeing tour. At all times he was attentive, present and attentive to us. We never feel alone or disoriented; on the contrary, we feel accompanied and cared for throughout the tour. Thank you, Alejandro, for your dedication, your patience and for making Montserrat such an enriching and meaningful experience. Definitely highly recommended. Atte Gustavo y Pilar ✨Mexico 🇲🇽
