Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park
Your guide would take you to see the beautiful iconic buttes, spires and mesas that have made Monument Valley famous on part of the 17 mile loop drive. We would then go to the back country restricted areas of the Tribal Park to stand beneath the natural arches, amp theaters and get right up close to the Anasazi petroglyphs. Our guides are so kind and would explain the traditional meanings of each location, history, and culture while answering any question that you might think of. Navajo Spirit Tours does not shy away from some of the spiritual topics that you might not hear about on a regular day. We do try our best in the short amount of time that we have with each of our guests to teach as much as we can while you are here. We do look forward to meeting you!

Our tour was led by a Navajo guide who shared stories and traditions from his culture throughout the day. We saw incredible sandstone formations including the Three Sisters, East and West Mitten Buttes, Elephant Butte, Big Hogan, and more. We were also amazed by the ancient petroglyphs carved into the sandstone thousands of years ago. At Big Hogan, our guide played what he called the Navajo version of rock and roll on his drum, adding even more meaning to the experience. There were only twelve of us in our group, which was a nice size. We enjoyed this experience very much.

Much better experience than we ever imagined. Will Cowboy, our guide, was knowledgeable, funny and so willing to share about his Navajo heritage. His stories were so fascinating- we could have listened to him all day. If you want stunning scenery plus an opportunity to learn about Native American culture, do this tour! You will not regret it.

We booked private morning and afternoon tours covering both Mystery Valley and Monument Valley. There are a lot of tour companies working this park. We narrowed it down to three. We chose Navajo Spirit Tours based on an earlier review that mentioned the guide Larson Homer. Larson covered all aspects of the tour thoroughly, taking the four of us to private areas of the park and explaining historic ruins in great detail. What made the tour exceptional was his sharing of Navajo culture and history including personal stories as he was born and raised in the area and lives locally with his family. We thoroughly enjoyed our 6+ hours with him. P.S He was a great driver.
