Discover a piece of rural Cambodia on this half day tour, which will take you into the heart of the Battambang countryside.
After a quick introduction to Battambang and its history, we'll set off into the countryside to visit the homes and workplaces of local Khmer people, watching them going about their day to day life, and creating different traditional local food and drink products. And of course, you'll have a chance to taste them too!
Find out how rice paper is made, watch sticky rice being cooked in bamboo tubes over an open fire, walk around an old factory where fermented fish paste is made, see dried bananas and banana chips being produced, visit a traditional old rice wine distillery - and more. You'll also have the option to visit the Wat Samrong Knong temple complex and killing fields.

5.00Great driver and guide. He showed us many things around the area and did his best to accommodate us when we had a request. We also used him for an afternoon trip which was great as well as getting to and from town as our accommodation was a little far out. He drives safe and provides water. I recommend going with him.

5.00Excellent tour from a lovely guide, Kim. He was on time and took us out of his way to see things not listed on the tour. Saw how the local people live and earn money with the fish market, rice wine, rice paper and sticky rice stall also! Take plenty of cash to tip the locals as this is how they earn extra money. Well worth it!

5.00If you are looking for an experience that goes beyond sightseeing, Kim Tours delivers a journey into Cambodia’s rural life, with a special focus on local produce, traditional farming, and village craftsmanship. From the moment you are picked up, your guide Kim offers warm hospitality and deep knowledge of Battambang’s countryside. The tour starts at the local market and takes you through the lush rice paddies, quiet backroads, and small villages. On our way we tasted freshly baked waffles with a coconut flavour, bamboo sticky rice and rice wine. We visited a family-run rice paper producer, banana chip producer, sticky rice producer, a rice wine producer and so on. So if you want to truly understand what rural life in Cambodia tastes, smells, and feels like, Kim Tours Battambang is a must. We were extremely happy with the way Kim runs its business. Note that he offers a number of other services and in our case we also travelled with him from Battambang to Phnom Penh (including a couple of sightseeing stops).

5.00Everything was great! I can really only recommend this tour, it was just everything perfect ! It was very informative, away from all the other tourists, you got to know many locals, everyone was super nice and friendly. My highlight were the bats, but also the production of rice wine, the rice noodles, and the rice paper was super exciting and interesting to watch! Thanks to Kim for this wonderful day, it was a great pleasure to meet you, and thank you for showing me so much, and answering all my questions. Your English is great, I wish you only the best!

5.00The guide, Kim was excellent and he spoke good English. Each stop was very well explained. The visit encompassed a pagoda, bar making process, rice wine making process, rice paper making, killing field and crocodile farm. Would highly recommend.

5.00The best guide we had throughout the stay. Lovely, speaks good English, funny, respects the route and does not force. He is also a Guide so he is not just a driver. His (personal) story that he counts on you before/during/after Khmer Rouge is striking. For the day, I did a mix of northeast and southwest Battambang province: the flight of bats is really impressive (even if you've seen a lot like me in your life). I highly recommend it.

We found his Livelihood Tour around Battambang fascinating and thoroughly satisfying, leaving us with a greater understooding of the area's culture and lifestyle and also its architecture, plant life and history.
