Mezquita Cathedral de Cordoba
Guided Tour to the most outstanding monument of Cordoba, the Mosque-Cathedral. It has been declared World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. The Guided Tour performed by expert historians, will lead you through an alive temple that has been witness to numerous historical events. It will not leave you indifferent. We will explain the different stages of construction, starting from the remains of the old Visigothic basilica of San Vicente that are still preserved. We will follow the Guided Tour to the old mosque that was built by Emir Abderraman I and the following expansions until the Almanzor period. After the conquest of the city by the Christian army the Mosque became Cathedral and occupied several warehouses due to the enlargement of the Caliph Al-Hakam II for liturgical celebrations. Later on, the existing transept of the Cathedral was built.

Our guide Fatima was fantastic. Her English was spot on and she explained everything so well and gave many theories when answers were unknown. The Mosque - Cathedral in Cordoba is absolutely amazing and what the Romans did in keeping’s the Mosque but putting a Cathedral inside was unique. Thank you, Fatima, for all your care in answering everyone’s questions and providing so much history in such a short time frame!

Absolutely superb experience. Our guide was so knowledgeable and you really need that here. We did 4pm which was perfect as it was quieter than all day. 90 mins at least to see it all.

The Trip Advisor confirmation failed to provide any information on how to find the right guide. We had to go from group to group asking if they spoke English. Once we found the correct tour, it was good.

Of the cathedrals we have all visited and often for free but here it is a unique and really incredible place. To be done with a guide preferably.

Saray was very knowledgeable and engaged well with a diverse group on our tour. Her historic knowledge, personal connection, and insights gave us far more than a tour book ever could.

Great Tour and the guide was very knowledgeable, personable and witty. It's a pity that the Mezquita-catedral de Córdoba didn't seem to limit the number of visitors for any one time. It's an amazing building, but the crowds made the visit a chore to see anything. It was a bit difficult at times for the guide to find spots to stop and tell us about all the unique features and history of the Mezquita she did manage quite brilliantly. I would advise anyone planning to visit to try and find the least busy times to enjoy the experience. We went on a Friday morning at 10:00 in November and the place was jammers already.
