Experience the Mostraumen Fjord Cruise on board our small, intimate vessels—each carrying fewer than 100 guests for a relaxed, spacious and personal journey. Departing from central Bergen, we sail past historic landmarks before heading through the Cityfjord, Salhusfjord and Osterfjord, where steep mountains and tranquil coves create a constantly shifting landscape. The adventure reaches its highlight in the narrow Mostraumen Channel, where the captain carefully navigates between towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. With daily departures year-round, this is the most intimate and up-close fjord experience from Bergen—perfect for travelers seeking comfort, atmosphere and unforgettable views.

This tour will go in rain or shine. In the winter months, it can happen that the sea freezes in the innermost part of the fjord where there is a lot of fresh water mixed with the sea water, brackish water. If there is so much ice that there is no safe passage for boats, the captain will then choose an alternative route in this area. This is beyond our control and it does not give grounds for claiming a refund for the trip. We will always do our best to give our customers great experiences, even on days when the forces of nature are not easy to handle.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
Bryggen is one of Norway’s most iconic sights—Bergen’s postcard-famous row of colorful wooden buildings along the harbor. Travelers will pass this UNESCO-listed waterfront and see the historic architecture that has become a signature image of Bergen and Norway.
Travelers will pass the iconic Nordhordland Bridge, a striking combination of suspension bridge and floating bridge spanning the fjord north of Bergen. Known for its unique engineering and dramatic setting, the bridge is a recognizable landmark and an impressive sight when entering the fjord landscape.

Dress warmly with water proof items. Very windy on the top of the boat but worth the views. Expect to get wet.

It was a fun day cruise. Even in May we were glad to have winter jackets, hats & gloves. It was a bit crowded up top on the way out and down below on the way back. People were saving spaces in both locations. I loved the way out, the way in got a little long. Good information shared and undeniably beautiful scenery.

At £100 per person, here are some important things we wish we knew before booking this trip. - The point is repeatedly made about timings (over and over), this makes the trip feel very compressed and a little rushed. - You only get 15 mins at the actual Glacier (and lake), then you have to walk back down so you don’t miss the return ‘troll cars’. - The ‘troll car’ operator is a private company and has no relationship with P&O, or the coach operator that P&O use. They will NOT wait. - The ‘troll cars’ are 7 seater buggies (nothing wrong with that), BUT this is 2 rows of 3 seats and a single seat next to the driver. - All the troll car seats are FULL, the service operates at capacity (any non P&O booked seats are sold locally by the operator, prior to departure) - the seat layout means you have a 50/50 chance of sitting with your partner. This is very disappointing, as the views from the 15 min troll car journey is a highlight of this trip. - This 50/50 chance of sitting with your loved one makes the getting into the troll cars unpleasant, it is a free-for-all, competitive, with no queuing system. There were always lots of grumpy people after the first wave of 'grab a seat quickly' has played out (see top tip). - Top Tip, as a couple take the single seat next to the driver in 2 different cars, better views, better photo opportunities, much more room, no squashing up with a stranger and you get to chat to a lovely local who will be driving. - The troll cars do not take you all the way to the glacier. There is a pretty demanding 20 minute walk (up) from the troll car drop off to the actual Glacier, and a 10 minute walk back (down). - The first half of this walk is up a steep rocky track, on gravel, we had to take 3 breaks walking up this section. The second half is much easier, but still not flat. Some people who struggled with their walking had to turn back - it is NOT ‘moderate’. - This trip includes coffee and cake, both absolutely delicious, but I would have preferred the extra time at the glacier, rather than 1 hour in the local cafe and shops! - Take a drink, there are places to buy, but it is so busy it will take you ½ hour to buy one (wasting valuable time). Is it worth it, I have to say YES. The glacier is tiny (retreating), but the views are spectacular and a highlight of the whole cruise - but there is a lot I wish I knew beforehand. This trip is not without its challenges.

This was a lovely few hours. Brilliant people and amazing views. It was cold though - in Bergen it was sunny and warm, but out on the fjords it felt very cold, even in bright sunshine! Fortunately, we'd read other reviews on here and wore lots of layers.

The staff were friendly and the boarding process was stress free and efficient. The boat was comfortable and the atmosphere was intimate with good opportunities to take photos when and where we wanted.

A must do while in Norway! Get out on the water, deep into the fjords and learn about the history and culture of Norway. Beautiful in any weather I’m sure. Our trip was very chilly, with misty clouds, snow, and bright blue skies with sunshine. The rapidly changing skies only added more drama to our views. Dress in layers appropriate for the weather and assume it will be colder on the water.

Excellent trip. This was a 3 hour trip which was long enough. Has a small coffee shop. Can sit indoor or outdoor. The captain went round answering everyone's questions, he was so friendly. Some commentary is also given .
