We use a unique route, starting from our Villas and Restaurant in Songan Village. Locally run, by a native of Songan Village, who has been hosting Mount Batur Trekking for over 25 years.

What To Expect

03:15 – 03:30: Our English-speaking guides will give you a quick briefing with information about your trek and the safety procedures. 03:30 – 03:45: We set off on the trail that leads up Mount Batur. 04:00 – 06:00: We continue our climb to the crater summit. 06:15 – 06:45: Arrival at the crater summit where we soak up the spectacular sunrise and views and enjoy eggs boiled in volcanic steam. There are several small traditional shops, or warung, at the summit where you can buy hot tea, coffee, or soft drinks. 07:00: We continue our trek with the possibility to trek around the entire crater. 08:00: We begin our descent to Bali Sunrise Villas, the finishing point of our trek. 09:00 – 09:30: We arrive at Bali Sunrise Villas.

What‘s Included

Fruit, bottled water, and a light breakfast of eggs boiled in volcanic steam at the summit.

We were a group of 7 and had a really great hike! Would definitely recommend to book with Bali Sunrise :) We stayed in two different places in Ubud and it was really easy to arrange the pick up from both places. The driver was on time and brought us safely to a nice cafe to get the including coffee/tea and to start the trek afterwards. We were hiking with Wayan and Nano who adapted well to our fitness level and made sure everyone was doing okay during the hike which was definitely harder than expected. They also shared their knowledge about Mt Batur, the flora and fauna as well as Indonesian culture and were really friendly and funny. Thanks for this amazing experience!

We enjoyed the trek - the company were brilliant - arrived timely, friendly driver with good English, lovely calm guide who gave us time when we needed it for breaks and calculated the correct time to arrive for sunrise based on our ability. Very helpful tour organiser on WhatsApp with good communication. Enjoyed doing this off season as fewer people on trek. No view of lake due to cloud but a wonderful view of the other volcano peak poking through the clouds was well worth it. We were lucky with the weather but wouldn’t like to do it in the rain. The price for a private guide was very fair and enabled us to go at our own pace. Thank you!

The ride is very well pass the hike also I recommend the batur mountain with a beautiful view after the effort.
Worth the early alarm call and although a challenging terrain, an amazing view and experience.

We were picked up by our driver Yoyo who was nice and friendly. We were then taken to the bottom of Mount Batur (about 2 hours drive from Sanur) where we met another couple and the guide. We started our ascent and the guide will stop occasionally if you need a rest. He is honest with how far you have to go and the elevation still left. If you are struggling, there are people on scramble bikes which will get you 90% of the way at an additiional charge. Once at the top you have your own bench to sit on whilst your guide arranges breakfast (banana sandwiches, hard boiled eggs and a chocolate bar), whilst you get comfortable and await the sun. As the sun rises, you can take your own photos/videos or the guide will assist. After about 30-40 minutes, you will start your descent which can be challenging at times due to the gradient and loose rocks. If you're struggling I would suggest speaking to your guide as it might be possible to take an easier less challenging path, dependent on your pick up point. A lovely experience and definitely worth the early get up.

Everything I expected and wanted Wayan was class. The route was very easy, Wayan ensured I had a good spot for the sunrise and I have nothing bad to say.

A driver picked us up at our hotel and took us to Mount Batur. We left at 2:00 a.m. After climbing for 1 hour and 20 minutes, we reached the summit and enjoyed an incredible view of the sunrise. Thank you to our guide Wayan for this excursion!

Couldn’t recommend enough. Our guide I Wayan ardip made our experience amazing. My partner wasn’t particularly confident with the hike but he made everything perfect. We got very lucky with the sun for sunrise , the views and the experience were unbelievable. We then finished off at the hot springs. 10/10

Impeccable experience for our hike to Mt Batur, with a beautiful sunrise at the top. We highly recommend this tour operator as everything ran smoothly (starting from the hotel pick-up in Ubud and the ride with an amazing driver) and our guide, Nano, was simply the best!

Awesome tour! I didn’t realize how difficult this Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking tour would be for me. I’m a 60+ year old woman in good condition, but I almost gave up twice. Thankfully, with the encouragement of my two friends and Wayan our tour guide who held my hand, I kept on trekking to the summit. The breathtaking sunrise views were so beautiful and worth it!
