I chose this tour because of the different areas that it included. Unfortunately the Lavender fields were not a stop, though when I read itinerary it looked like they were, stating you could get a photo in the fields. Nonetheless, it was a full day tour, about 13 1/2 hours and stopped at some amazing scenic spots, church of Good Shepherd, Lake Tekapo, Twizel and Mount Cook National park. The driver was excellent, spoke clearly and with enough detail to inform without overwhelming. They were always sure the group of 16 were looked after, bringing out snacks after most stops and water was readily available. The minibus was comfortable, however I'm small stature, some others would have liked a bit more room. Stops were numerous and driver was always on hand to answer questions. They were extremely well educated on the area and were always able to answer. There were opportunities to go for walks and it was outlined beforehand what was involved so passengers could decide whether to participate or not. I only had one minor complaint, the fact Mt Cook restaurant didn't take cash, but that wasn't anything to detract from the Tour which was excellent value for money. The timing of pickup/dropoff etc was spot on. I believe the driver was responsible for the easy way the tour was run and how it played out on the day.

Spectacular scenery of Aoraki and Lake Tekapo. And a good hike to the Tasman glacier. Great organisation which meant we were given a little time to wander. It was a long day but the tour was exceptional.

  • Gorgeous sights, scenic places to walk, cramped seating

Fabulous scenery, good amount of stops, personable knowledgable driver made the long day of traveling worthwhile, especially for people who appreciate Sir Edmund Hillary and sites of Lord if the rings trilogy. More leg room is needed in the NZisyours van! Only the front seats had leg room. I am only 5’6” and my knees were pressed uncomfortably into the seat ahead of me. Take out a row or two of seats and give all passengers more leg room!

  • Stunning scenery and amazing guide

Our guide and driver was amazing. He was super knowledgeable about the area and dropped in for commentary at suitable intervals during our drive. It’s a long drive but we made multiple comfort stops for bathroom/fresh air. Water and snacks are offered throughout the trip to make sure we’re all good. Our guide (I’m sorry I don’t remember his name) went above and beyond to ensure everyone was taken care of and was happy to answer any questions about the sights, do extra stops time allowing. I decided to skip lunch and he was happy to recommend other hikes to do around Mt Cook during the lunch break. Truly a great value and a must do day trip if you’re in the area.

While this is a long day of driving, the stops you make are absolutely worth it! You have plenty of bathroom stops, snacks, and plenty of time at each place to explore a bit. Our favorite part was driving up to Mount Cook!
