Aoraki/Mount Cook ‘the cloud piercer’, our highest peak dominates the Southern Alps mountain range that divides New Zealand’s South Island into east and west. The Mt Cook National Park’s towering mountains, vast glaciers and remote snowfields inspired Sir Edmund Hillary, before his quest of Mt Everest.
This flight takes you past the Hochstetter Icefall on Aoraki/Mt Cook and the upper Tasman Glacier before a thrilling alpine landing in the snow. You’ll fly home through the remote Burnett Mountains with the expansive and arid Mackenzie Basin below you.

We took a flight up to view Mt Cook on a perfect day in such a picturesque area of NZ. Having never flown in a helicopter I was very anxious. Wow! what an awesome experience, if you ever get the opportunity totally jump aboard. Thanks to The Helicopter Line who made me feel comfortable & safe with their experienced staff & professionalism.

This was amazing, a once in a lifetime experience. Our pilot Mike was excellent, he provided us with an excellent commentary and information during our flight. Landing on the glacier was incredible. It was well organised and very professional with regular email communication about the flight and checking in process etc and safety briefing before our flight. A must do trip when in New Zealand.

It was amazing. Our pilot was great and very informative. I get travel sickness and was worried how rough the flight would be but I found it to be very smooth and didn’t feel sick at all. Seeing the glaciers and then landing and walking on them was awesome.

One of the best helicopter rides with birds eye view of Mount Cook and the Tasman Glacier. Worth every penny we spent. I highly recommend making the reservation ahead of time to confirm your spot.
