We fly all year round, weather permitting. Please note: On Christmas, we only operate for half the day (9 am - 12 pm).

What To Expect

Your tour begins when you arrive at base on the Main Street of Fox Glacier. Take off on this 40-minute ultimate Mt Cook helicopter flight when you fly over the glacial icefalls, crevasses and the neves. You will experience views from the coast to the mountain tops as you get to see both of the amazing West Coast Glaciers (Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier) and New Zealand’s highest peak, Mount Cook.
Cross the Southern Alps spine and circle to the top of the magnificent Mt Cook before taking the opportunity to top it all off with a spectacular snow landing, getting your feet on snow and taking the best holiday photos. This is the best helicopter experience on the West Coast and perhaps even in all of New Zealand.

5.00This was one of the most memorable experiences of our 3 weeks in New Zealand. We were smart to book the early flight, as some later in the day were cancelled due to weather conditions. We had great views of Fox Glacier (where we landed) and Franz Joseph Glacier. We highly recommend doing this!

5.00It's expensive, but as a "once in a lifetime" experience it is definitely worth it! Overall impression was good. Pilot was nice and professional, and commentary was knowledgeable and informative. We did have very good fortune with the weather, something that made the ride a whole lot bette.r

5.00We lucked out with the weather and went on a beautiful sunny day. The staff were great, the pilot knowledgeable and the views were incredible. The southern alps are stunning and this is the perfect way to see them! In response to the “not covid safe” review last month. Whilst we weren’t social distanced (difficult in a helicopter!) all 7 of us, including the pilot, were wearing masks. The company also adhered to the usual hand washing/contact tracing rules too. This has been the highlight of our trip so far and worth every cent!

5.00My boyfriend and I flew this morning over the Fox Glacier and Mount Cook. We had the absolute best time flying over the glacier! Clark, our pilot, was extremely profesionnal and made us felt safe during our whole trip. The girls at the office (Fox Glacier) were also super friendly! The visibility was incredible and we got the chance to even see the Tasman Glacier! This experience is definitely one of our highlight and we will recommend you to do it, if you are thinking about it! :)

5.00This was the highlight of my holiday and even though I am not a confident helicopter flyer, I was made to feel secure and safe. Landing in the snow was exciting and added to the experience. Totally recommend. We arrived early and our flight was bought forward and this was great as the weather changed later in the afternoon.
