Roberto was a fantastic passionate guide, informative trip with a great lunch afterwards. We were a small group of 7, great to have to hiking boots provided as it was slippery in parts

We didn’t know what to expect when we booked our Mount Etna trek. Was it going to be an instagram moment or a couple of selfies with Big Mama (Etna) in the background? To our surprise, we were treated to a professional tour of hiking and history with insight and experience. Our guide Tony was born on the slopes of Etna. With a Masters in Environmental studies he has a unique understanding of all Etna has to offer. His knowledge, commentary and humour made this one of the best tours our group has even been on. We hiked, listened, laughed and are better off having taken this tour. It’s true…life is better with hiking boots on. We would definitely recommend this tour (especially with Tony as your guide) oh, lunch and the winery was pretty good too.

Our guide was very nice, knowledgeable, and passionate. He was the only good part of this trip. The rest of the people in my group were nice enough, but there was one particular insufferable man who kept asking annoying questions and yapping to our guide about nonsense, holding up the entire group. We started off the day with an unnecessarily long and windy 2 hour car ride (it only took 30 min to get home) to a winery where we got fitted with hiking boots and use the bathroom. I am glad I brought water because they did not provide any, nor did they recommend that we bring it ourselves. By the time we got to the hiking trail, it was already very hot outside. I wasted a ton of space in my luggage on a jacket because they recommended that we bring one, but it ended up sitting in the car the whole time. We did not summit very high at all. We also did not see any active craters or lava flows (or even anything recently active within the last couple years). We were basically just walking around trails of black dirt in old craters and looking at views of part of the volcano (you can actually see more of it from further away than you can up close). There were also tons of other tour groups on the same trail. We did this for about 60-90min and then drove to this underground cave that was formed by lava flows. At this point, i was tired, hungry, disappointed, and just wanted to go home. However, we went back to the winery and ate soggy sandwiches for 2 hours before finally getting to leave. This tour was WAY too long; it could have been a 3 hour trip that was dragged out into a 7 hour ordeal. Such a waste of time and money. Spare yourself. Go to the beach instead.

We had a great experience on the Etna People half day tour. Daniele C was an excellent tour guide - he was very knowledgeable and personable. The company also made it very convenient and easy to be picked up and dropped off. Would recommend everyone do this if you’re in the area.
