Our experienced and professional guides are Certified Pico Mountain Guides and belong to AGMA – Azores Mountain Guides Association. They will constantly monitor your well-being during the climb, observing your actions and communicating with you.
Our groups are small and use high-quality materials to ensure you get the most out of this life experience.

Participants should not have gone diving 24 hours before the climb.
It is mandatory to present yourself with proper mountain boots and equipment suitable for the activity. Failure to meet these requirements may result in exclusion from the climb, including by decision of the Mountain House, without the right to a refund
All participants must be in good physical condition and have motor coordination. Please inform Tripix Azores of any physical restrictions, including issues with lower limbs, vertigo, mental health, heart problems, asthma, diabetes, pregnancy, or other health conditions.

What To Expect
Pico Mountain in the Azores is the highest mountain in Portugal - 2351mt - and the third highest volcano in the northern hemisphere of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a challenging mountaineering activity and a rewarding experience, with a medium / high degree of difficulty depending on the climb option chosen (Daytime - Medium, Nighttime - Medium / High and Overnight - High) with some technical requirements, good preparation and physical coordination. We strongly recommend this activity to active people, sedentary people will find it more difficult to carry out the activity.

5.00We made the night climb with the Tripix to see the sunrise and it was just fantastic. Our guide, Matteo, was spectacular from start to finish. He knows the mountain and the island as few, along the way went explaining curiosities, sharing stories and giving various useful tips for the rest of our trip. The climb, although challenging at some times, became much easier thanks to Matteo’s constant encouragement, which kept the group motivated and safe throughout the journey. I recommend the experience 100%. Professionalism, sympathy and a moment that we will take forever with us.

5.00Our Mt Pico hike with Matteo and Bruno was one of the best experiences of our entire trip! Both guides were incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and fun to be around. They made the challenging climb enjoyable and kept everyone motivated from start to finish. The views from the top were absolutely breathtaking, and we couldn’t have asked for better guides to share the moment with. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Pico!

5.00Our night climb was great!!! Our guide Matteo a madness!!! Step by step in pitch darkness up in fog, drizzle, wind - always following the steps of the front. Breaks for the needs of girls and boys, separated in the dark :-) Short, suitable music recordings - motivating with goose bumps effect during the short climbing section with "Lord of the Rings" - really magical!!! Above - dark, windy, cold - then....the sun... indescribable :-)😀😀😀😀 Muito Obrigado Metteo!!! Karoline and Gernot from Tyrol

5.00My partner and I went up to sunrise on Pico together with the group of Matteo. The experience up there at over 2500 meters with an unobstructed view of the sunrise is unforgettable. You could clearly tell that Matteo is an expert and we always felt safe. He knew exactly where to step and go, especially since it was still very foggy further down the mountain and pitch-duster at the time. Personally, I wouldn't go up there without a guide. What's great is that we were provided with the poles, which was really great, because often I get knee pain downhill. Because of the distributed load on the hiking poles I did not get any pain! Thanks to Matteo for getting us up and down there safely!

5.00Awesome experience. Matteo was a very kind and experienced guide. We climbed as a team and got down as a team. Afterwards he provided as with a lot of photo and video footage of our climb which are some really nice memories. It would have been nice to make a few more stops at the climb to admire the stars in the sky some more, though.

5.00We had an amazing expérience with Tripix, especially Matteo. Highly recommended this hike if you’re passionnate about technical hikes with a spectacular reward at the end: sunrise and sea of clouds We are a sporty couple so the hike itself was not too difficult for us but as always, the descent was tough and long. But we had a super great guide Matteo so it was less difficult. He makes you feel confortable and safe during the whole hike, always here to cheer you up and explain a bit of story about the volcano. It’s always a pleasure with someone who is so passionate about his job (and what a good memory to remember all guests name, bravo!). Be prepared when you reach the top, the super star of the show, rising, is amazing. It was definitely one of our best experience so far. Do not hesitate a second to book with Tripix 😊
