Pilatus Luzern
Hop aboard your comfortable coach for the short journey to Kriens, at the foot of the imposing Mt Pilatus. On arrival, begin your ascent to the mountain’s lofty summit with a 30-minute panoramic gondola ride to the Fräkmüntegg terminus. Enjoy beautiful views over the rolling hills and lush pine forests below. At Fräkmüntegg, hop aboard the aerial tramway — a spacious and modern cabin with panoramic windows designed to give the feeling of flight. Continue your climb to the summit at a dizzying altitude of 7,000 feet, and take in spectacular views over the Alpine peaks and lakes from your vantage point on the mountain. During your free time atop Mt Pilatus, perhaps sit down to a high-altitude lunch among the peaks (own expense) or relax on the expansive sun terrace. Venture down the Dragon's Path and take a short hike around the summit to enjoy the amazing views.

The overall experience was wonderful. I love the combination of Pilatus mountain, cable car ride and cog wheel and the cruise on the lake. One thing I’d recommend for solo travels is to stick together as it’s easy to lose the guide /group when getting off the cable car at the top of the mountain.

The excursion was beautiful. It was well organized with an excellent tour guide. My only complaint was that Viator did not change the pick up location on the site. That really needs to be updated. We almost missed our tour and would not have been pleased at all. That really needs to be fixed.

Was a great experience, made it easy with a guide, all inclusive tickets in a country where we don’t speak the language.

Even with clouds rolling in, it was well worth it. The meeting point could have been a little more specific but when we arrived at the address we found someone who directed us to the bus parking area nearby. Cable car, gondola, cog railway and boat all provided beautiful views and we had plenty of time for a picnic and to walk around at the summit on our own. We could have taken the Golden Round Trip without a guide, but we were only in Lucerne for the day and wanted to be sure the timing went smoothly. This was definitely worthwhile!
