Arguably the birthplace of the city itself, George Washington’s former estate is located just 13 miles from the capital’s center. Please note that the mansion itself is under renovation, and select rooms will not be available to view.

5.00We had an excellent tour with Christopher. He kept us entertained with great stories and anecdotes of the town, Mount Vernon, President Washington and other historical figures. We had plenty of time to check out the property and the stop in Alexandria was charming. It was a great day and well worth it, I highly recommend it!

5.00Our tour guide Christopher, and driver Kareem, were terrific. We learned a lot of history and really enjoyed seeing the actual home and belongings of our first President. Walking around the property, seeing the gardens, out buildings, and tomb was enlightening. Contemplating the lives of the slaves was a somber element as well.
