I was fortunate enough a few days ago to go on this tour and was the only person who booked so as a bonus ended up on a private tour! Steve was the most incredible tour guide, warm, informative, kind. He had tid bits of information for every location we went to and road we went down. Not only that, Steve tailored the tour to my interests in the area and provided recommendations for activities, places to shop and eat. Steve is a true asset to the Mountain Goat company and if you can I’d recommend booking with him and doing this tour, but just doing this tour in general as it’ll get to see some of the most beautiful locations in the lakes district. I’m already planning a trip back and when I do I’ll be booking in again with Mountain Goat!

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour despite the weather which was very windy and cold. Tony was both charming and informative. He gave us an overview of the area and told us how the valleys were formed and how much the landscape differs in certain parts of the Lake District; some of the views were stunning. His driving was excellent (I would have hated driving up and down the passes!). We thought this tour was very good value for a whole day's outing.

Tony was very informative, relaxed and made the trip enjoyable. Tony, you were fantastic. You made the tour very interesting with your facts and knowledge. Mountain Goat had done their homework when creating this tour. Even the cold weather did not put a damper on this tour. We visited sites that we would not have done if we did not go on the tour. Worth every penny. We highly recommend Mountain Goat and would definitely do one of their other tours.

We did the tour on Saturday 31st January and had a great day out. Nice comfortable mini-bus well judged tour with stops for photos and “comfort breaks” including an hour lunch break stop in Keswick. Best of all was our driver/guide called Steve who was absolutely excellent, so very knowledgeable and told some great stories. His passion and love for the area where he was born and bred, shone through. How he managed to to drive some of the roads and talk at the same time I will never know, but don’t worry safety of his passengers was top priority. Our tour was slightly shorter because of the time of year, but equally the roads were quite clear and with the trees etc free of leaves and foliage we got some excellent views. A really great day and thoroughly recommended.

Our guide Steve was fabulous. Not only does he love the landscape and his origin he shared his knowledge about community history, aspects of this special place, like details of a dry rock wall, Castlerigg Stone Circle, and the Viking sheep, He share about the English author Wordsworth, about his family and his life and knew and recited multiple poems by William. He also told us about Beatrice Potter and the Tales of Peter Rabbit, about each lake, and local community as if he had lived in each one. Truly, he is a born storyteller, a genuine local, who we wanted to have a pint with! Cheers to Mountain Goat Tours to have such a great ambassador. After your journey with us, we must come back again. Thank you.

This was a little last minute booking of this tour as a quick side adventure on the way home to the US from an Africa trip. Today's tour of the Lake District was superb! Our driver and guide, Steve, was amazing and had the local knowledge of someone that grew up here...since he did exactly that! He took us to amazing places, answered more questions than I'm sure he was expecting to receive, gave us great history and offered indepth explanations of the local area and language (etymology). Was fun hearing about his childhood growing up freely out in the nature this beautiful countryside provides. I hope to be luckily enough to have Steve as our guide for more tours of the area on a future trip! Would recommend Mountain Goat Tours for anyone.

We did this tour on Thursday 15th Jan with the lovely Steve. He picked us up exactly on time from our hotel and i knew as soon as we stepped on that bus we were in for a good day. Steve is highly knowledgeable on the local area, has great stories and is very funny and quick witted, we had great banter with him. I have never met anyone who loves their job as much as Steve, he is so proud of the Lake District and takes great pride in showing it off. The tour was amazing, I never realised how beautiful or vast the Lakes are. Lovely stop offs to grab drinks and Keswick for some lunch. I cannot recommend this enough, it was truly a magical day.
