  I had an amazing time walking the great wall today. Our guide Amelia explained what segments of the wall were accessible/interesting and how to reach them very well. This made it possible to spend my precious time at the wall the best I could. No issues with pickup, the busses or the return trip.

  I wanted to share how pleasant my New Year trip to Mutianyu Great Wall with Mubus was, and our guide John deserves a lot of credit. He picked us up downtown punctually, and the bus ride was enjoyable with his casual sharing of the Wall’s history—no stiff lectures, just interesting anecdotes about ancient soldiers and local tales. Upon arrival, he helped our group plan a comfortable route, offering useful tips for both hiking and taking the cable car, so everyone could choose what suited them best. The included brunch buffet was a nice touch too; there was a good variety of fresh vegetables, savory meats, sweet fruits, flaky pastries and creamy cakes, which provided just the right amount of energy for our exploration. John’s suggestion of the toboggan ride down was a lovely end to the day. I would happily recommend Mubus and John to others.

  I can't say enough good things about our Mubus tour with John. We were blessed to be in Beijing by the weather during the new year holiday , and John's guidance made it a day we'll never forget. As a guide, John is unparalleled. His knowledge of the Great Wall's history is vast, and he explained everything in a clear and engaging way. His advice on the best sections to climb was spot-on and very helpful. Walking the wall was such an unforgettable experience. The views of the Great Wall area were breathtaking—not only was the Great Wall itself incredible, but the surrounding mountains were stunning too. Definitely made braving the cold totally worth it! The bus waiting hall was a warm, comfortable space. You can stay in it comfortably if you come back from the mountains early.

  What an awesome way to kick off 2026! Spent New Year’s Day hiking Mutianyu Great Wall, and our guide John totally made the day. Dude’s so friendly—greeted everyone with big smiles and happy New Year vibes right when we met. His history stories about the watchtowers were actually interesting, not boring textbook stuff. He kept checking if anyone needed a break and pointed out the best photo spots. Oh, and the Mubus buffet was a pleasant surprise! Tons of food options, something for everyone—spicy, mild, veggie, you name it. Tasted great too, perfect after a hike. No rush, no hidden fees—just a chill, fun day. John’s the man!

  My 2026 New Year’s Day at Mutianyu Great Wall with John was perfect! I was kinda worried about the hike ‘cause I’m not super fit, but John put me at ease right away. He picked the easiest route with the best views and stuck by me the whole time, cheering me on. His stories about the wall’s history were actually fun to listen to—I didn’t even notice how much we walked. We hit up the Mubus buffet later, and wow—so many dishes! Meat, veggies, local snacks, everything tasted fresh. No pushy stuff, no rushing—just a laid-back, great day. John’s a rockstar guide!

  My day trip to Mutianyu Great Wall with Mubus was absolutely unforgettable, and a huge shoutout to our guide John—he made the whole experience 10 times better! John picked us up right on time downtown, and he kept us entertained the entire bus ride with fun facts about the Wall’s history, not the boring textbook stuff—we’re talking stories about ancient soldiers and local legends. Once we arrived, he mapped out the perfect route for our group: some wanted to hike up for the workout, others preferred the cable car, and he had great tips for both. He even stuck around to take group photos at the best viewpoints—no awkward selfies here! John also warned us about overpriced snacks and where to grab cheap, tasty water instead. The toboggan ride down was his idea, and it turned out to be the highlight of the day. No rushing, no stress—just a perfect, relaxed day exploring one of the world’s wonders. Thanks to John and Mubus, this was the best day of my Beijing trip! 10/10, would recommend a million times over.

  The tourism company works perfectly. He kept exactly what he promised: he led us to the Great Wall and brought us back to the place marked exactly at the scheduled times. The guide Mike is very friendly and familiar with the local history and tourist spot, in addition to having a great sense of humor. I highly recommend this attraction and this guide.

  Seamless and Enjoyable Great Wall Tour - Highly Recommend Mubus & Helly! If you're looking for a hassle-free way to visit the Mutianyu Great Wall, look no further than Mubus. Their service is excellent. The direct bus from Dongzhimen was easy to find and saved us the trouble of navigating public transport or taxis. Our guide, Helly, deserves special praise. She was not only professional but also genuinely friendly and attentive. She handled everything smoothly, from tickets to clear instructions for meeting points and return times. Her recommendations on which sections to hike and where to take the best photos were spot-on. Thanks to the efficient organization and Helly’s cheerful guidance, we could fully immerse ourselves in the breathtaking scenery without any worries. It was a perfect day trip that exceeded my expectations. Five stars for Mubus and Helly!

  My family joined the 8am bus tour with Mubus to Mutianyu in late December. The meeting point was easy to find. The big group of more than a hundred guests were split into 3 buses and each was escorted by a local guide. Our guide Mike was affable and full of energy. During the journey he gave a brief history of the Great Wall as well as a detailed explanation of where to go and what to expect at the site. Although his English was not perfect, we could understand him and enjoy his jokes. He also gave tips on how to bargain at local stalls. It was obvious that the group enjoyed his company. The tour site itself was clean and well organised with many eateries and shops. The only gripe was the long wait of more than 1 hour for the chair lift and toboggan at the east side of the mountain when we reached there at about 10 am. It seemed like everyone had the same idea to go to the east side first instead of the west. It left us not sufficient time to explore the more beautiful west side which was served by a cable car. The actual time left for exploring was about sufficient for people who want to go to both sides and reached about 6 towers in total with time for a quick lunch. Overall the tour was quite enjoyable for a short trip, made pleasant by the guide Mike. Be aware that there was an extra cost of 140 yuan per person for using the chairlift and toboggan and another 140 for the cable car. No choice unless you want to take the stairs to the wall.

  We had a great experience. Everything was well planned and detailed. Our guide Mike was great and full of stories! We also opted for the buffet lunch and it was a good spread for the price we paid. Overall, we recommend this tour.
