• Great experience with a great tour guide to the Great Wall

  Joined the 8am tour to Mutianyu, gotta say it was worth it, our tour guide, Mike, really made sure we had a good history lesson and fun facts about the great wall. Mike is really passionate about his job, he takes it seriously and always cracks a funny joke whenever he can. He made the whole trip very memorable for the 3 of us, I never laughed so much in a tour guide trip before because most of the time I would be sleeping haha but not this time. When at the great wall, Mike also let us know how to conquer it and what's the best way to go about it. I've conquered the West side completely although the last few miles were tough as heck, and also the east side but had to skipped one tower cause of time. We've booked the package with the lunch and the lunch was fantastic, great food spread and great taste. When coming back to the city, Mike even let us know where to go for good food and shopping. Overall it was a great trip and would love to come back and find Mike again when im in Beijing and when im going up the great wall again! Recommend!!!

  This is truly one amazing experience for me and my family to be able to experience the trekking of the Great Wall of China. What makes it more amazing is the great arrangement by Mubus and a very interesting and experienced guide, Mike. He explained the history in a very simple way that is easily understood. And Mike is a superbly jovial and entertaining guy. Just loved the way he handled everything. Because of him, if I ever visit Beijing again, Mubus will be my choice.

  Our guide Tony was absolutely fantastic. The whole trip was amazing, our guide was very knowledgeable and shared interesting insight on the history of the Great Wall, and was open to every question that was asked. Mutianyu early winter was perfect. There was surprisingly not many people and absolutely incredible views. On the return bus we were lucky enough to have Mike as a guide who was very enthusiastic and very kind in sharing local insight into some other must visit spots in Beijing. The entire day was stress-free and very well organised. I Highly recommended !!

  Joined the 8am Great Wall 5km walk, which includes the entrance too Great wall and Transport. Mike was our bus journey tour guide who gave us a very entertaining history class on our journey to Great Wall, and he ensure all of us gets to and back from Great Wall safely. We had our tour guide Taka Kuang who brought us to our 5km hiking tour, very pleasant tour guide and he is very experienced making sure we get the best out from this tour. We stopped a few stops which he gave us details on the history of Great Wall. The tour is good for people who can walk steps and able to do hikes. The tour brings you to both the scenic side and also the less crowded side of the Great Wall. Overall, it is a very enjoyable experience

  I had such a great time on the Great Wall with my friends using this bus tour — honestly, it was the perfect way to go. It made everything so easy: simple meetup point, no stress about transport, and no worrying about how to get back. Tony was a great guide and gave really interesting background on the history of the Wall and what to expect. On the way back, Mike was brilliant and so funny — it made the journey back really relaxing and a great time to decompress after the long walk up. It’s not a fully guided tour the whole time, which I actually loved. You’re free to explore at your own pace with no pressure, as long as you’re back on time for the bus. Super chill experience and I’d definitely recommend it!

  We had great time in this tour. Our guide to go there was Kevin. Very informative and professional. Highly recommend. In the back our guide was Mike. O my he sooooo knowledgeable and real Beijing guy. He gave us so lot information that we needed. Thank you Kevin and Mike. I forgot about lunch. It was very delicious and amazing

  I reserved this tour with the guidance of my hotel concierge and at first i was a little skeptical but then i got on the buss with the leader Mike and his storytelling skills were amazing he explained the history very well and i also got the buffet lunch it was amazing very delicious thanks again for everything

  We had booked a tour with Mubus to the Great Wall of China and we were was so glad that we got Mr Mike as our guide. He sent us WhatsApp messages to inform us on the items to bring and the details of the meeting point a couple of days before. He is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His command of the English language is very good and clear. We brought our 2 young kids (10 & 11 years old) despite the cold and Mr Mike ensured that we were all at ease and safe. The bus ride to the Wall was comfortable and Mr Mike shared the vast history about it along the way. He's narrative was very informative with a tinge of humour to keep everyone attentive and eager to visit this great monument. Unfortunately, the cable car ride was closed for 3 days during our visit. Nevertheless, Mr Mike recommended routes for us to get the best out of our visit and briefed us thoroughly on the safety aspects. The Great Wall of China is truly an engineering wonder and words simply cannot describe it. After our hike, we were treated to a sumptuous buffet lunch with a wide variety of both local and western dishes. My kids loved the chicken and fries!! On the way back to Beijing, Mr Mike continued to share the other places of interest that we should visit which was a pleasant surprise has most tour guides usually sit in silence once the tour ends.   The trip to Mutianyu Great Wall was very well organised. I received an email from our tour guide Mike the day before the trip with meet up details, things to bring, and his WhatsApp contact. He also informed us to wear comfortable shoes, a very good advice because there will be a lot of walking and many steps to climb up and down. At the meet up location, it was very easy to find the tour staffs as they were wearing red MuBus vests. The bus left for Mutianyu Great Wall on time. On the bus trip, tour guide Mike gave us a good background information of the Great Wall, the reason why it was built, and its long history from the Chinese people's perspective. It was fun and informative. Mike told us that MuBus has a building at the starting point and gave us clear information on how to ride the park's shuttle service to get to the cable car stations for the East and West Routes. He gave us tips on where and how far to go depending on our physical condition. The cable car rides are not included in the bus tour package but can be purchased on the bus. You can buy 1-way or return for 1 route or both East and West routes. For the east route, the cable ride up is on a chairlift. There is the option to take the toboggan down or the chairlift. For the west route, it is the cable car going up and down. You can skip the cable car and hike up if you prefer. They also offered souvenirs but there was no pressure selling. Those who did not get the package with lunch buffet can also purchase the lunch buffet on the bus. The lunch buffet was very much worth it with a wide variety of selection for Asians and westerners. Mike also told us that there was Burger King, Pizza Hut, Vietnamese food, and other restaurants if we didn't want the buffet lunch. He told us how to get back to the MuBus building, where to go for the lunch buffet and check out for the bus ride back to Beijing. He gave us the timings for bus back. The last bus is at 3pm. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is very well preserved. There are some sections with very steep steps. The view of the mountains is spectacular. The facilities are clean. There are clean restrooms at several locations. Being at the Great Wall of China and seeing the scale of it made me think about the sacrifices made by the people who built it and the lives lost in the fight between people trying to breach it and those defending it. Our tour guide Mike is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. A great tour guide.
