Mutianyu is one of the most picturesque wall sections. It has been fully restored, so you are able to get a great idea how it looked in ancient times. The surrounding countryside is also famous for its fragrant pines and cypress trees.

What To Expect
Mutianyu Great Wall
MuBus is a shuttle service to the Mutianyu Great Wall Scenic Area, offering two daily departures at 8:00am and 10:00am. By taking the MuBus, you can benefit from no-reservation entry and no-fee shuttle tickets within the scenic area. You will have 4-5 hours ample time to tour the Great Wall. Additionally, the Mubus Tourist Center will offer you complimentary rest areas, tea, snacks, and luggage storage, ensuring a high-quality travel experience.

3.00It was a long day. The things I did not like is that there was zero notice that the summer palace has a boat tour optional add on for 100 yen. We were expected to pay it and we decided not to do the boat trip. It should be included in the price. However as we did not go we had no tour at all of the summer palace. Something we paid for. Very poor. The Mubus company push all their add ons to generate money which is not ideal. However the next thing that really irritated was being told that we would be dropped off very far away from where we were picked up. Nobody wanted to be dropped off at the Olympic building so we managed to get them to drop us off at the pick up point, as it said in the booking. However if we did not speak up it would have added over 30min to most people's journeys and lots more money via didi. This company need to work on their advertising. If you do summer palace tour you include the boat trip otherwise you are just misleading clients

5.00What a day! Easy access to the meeting point at Dongzhimen subway. Guided by Mike to and from Mutianyu. He was very informative but definitely not a boring person. The arrangement was smooth because he and the team really emphasize the golden rules and gave clear guidance on how to really enjoy both sides of the tower at Mutianyu. Ample time given to explore the area. Breath taking views and you can't have enough of it. Definitely a Great Wall..not just for China but also for the world. A bit sad to think of how much effort and lives taken for this to be built. A good reminder that we live better because they were others that suffers for us. There's a lounge area with free snacks and drinks too! Lunch was great with Chinese dishes but also non-chinese food. If you are not into meat, there were great options of vege too. Lifetime memories made! Highly recommended!

5.00Although the day was rainy, I was able to enjoy the walk. Mubus served us very well, helped on the way, took pictures, and provided us with a good lunch. I would do the tour again, and I recommend.

5.00The Great Wall tour was well planned and our guide, Kevin, was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The transportation to the Great Wall was comfortable and the guide presented all the options for the trip and gave clear instructions to make the day easier. We enjoyed having the freedom to climb the wall ourselves. The Great Wall certificate souvenir as a beautiful add on.

5.00This was an excellent trip. Very informative and worth every minute and every RMB. It is a 90 minute journey to the wall and mike, our guide, spoke about the origins and need for the wall. He was full of information and kind observations about conflict and battles through the ages. He recommended doing the wall in a specific way which reduces queues. We had a fabulous day, and mike and the mubus company made it memorable.

5.00The trip was amazing, seriously the best way to visit the Great Wall of China and very good explanation of our tour Guide Mike!! He spoke very good English and told us everything about the Great Wall and the history. He was the best guide I had during my time in China and also made a lot of pictures. I would recommend to use the food facility of Mubus at their place because the other locations are more or less the same and it is convenient. One thing you should know is that there is a big cue when you arrive at the cable car for entering the Great Wall (aprox. 1 hour) so i would recommend to get on the earliest possible bus in the morning. Furthermore the experience on the wall itself was the best and not that crowded as well. Thanks again Mike for the fantastic tour! If you book the trip (we did with GetYourGuide) ask for Mike as the guide! (No Spon)

5.00The Great Wall tour was awesome. The whole thing was very well organized. Max greeted me right at the meeting point. Then Jily checked us in and everything was super after that. The explanations, the plan for the day and the meeting places were all excellent. I did the easy and the west climbs. The wall is really magnificent! Both sides were spectacular. The weather was perfect too! Jilly was super friendly and Max helped me find some activities to do after. He was very helpful.

5.00I had a great experience booking this trip spontaneously and was pleasantly surprised by how informative and well-organized everything was. The guide, John, provided clear and engaging explanations about the history of the Great Wall, including how its earliest sections date back over 2,200 years and later expansions around 2,000 years ago, with the most well-known reconstruction during the Ming Dynasty in the 14th century. These historical insights really helped me appreciate the scale and significance of the site much more deeply. The instructions throughout the trip were also very clear, making navigation and timing smooth and stress-free even for a last-minute booking. Overall, it was a well-run experience with John that combined convenience, learning, and a seamless visit to one of China’s most iconic landmarks.
