This tour was amazing! Our guide, Avi, was so knowledgeable about Fiji and really taught us about the history and culture of this beautiful island. He was so hospitable and had an answer for all of our queries! Learning about Fijian produce in the markets and Hindu religion in Fiji at the temple was fascinating, and the mud pools were a really special experience. Could not recommend this tour more!

Worth the money to book this tour. Our guide was lovely and had a wealth of knowledge. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it feels a bit rushed to get everything done in half a day. Could've do with 20-30 minutes more at each location.

This was a great half day tour. Recommend going. I enjoyed the mudpool and thermal pool better than the garden, but I'm not a plant person. However, it was beautiful.

Our driver, Sami, was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information throughout the entire trip while answering any questions that we had. The trip started at the Temple where we were allowed to take pictures on the outside (really only 1 picture with the temple in the background). Guys have to wear sleeves and pants while girls have to cover their shoulds and wear bottoms that are below the knees, otherwise, a wrap will be provided for you. The 2nd stop was at the local farmers' market where we were shown all the different plants/fruits/vegetables that were for sale. We bought a mango that was "expensive" since it was technically off-season for them but came out to $5 FJD. The next stop was to the town where we were dropped off at a store where locals were selling handmade crafts that would make it through customs. There was also an opportunity to participate in the kava ceremony where they make a drink out of the crushed root of the plant. The drink leaves your tongue tingling (much like getting a local anesthetic on it during a dental procedure) and tastes a little like mud water but it was an interesting experience. The employees of the shop were much like salespeople working for a commission and we ended up buying a purse and making a donation for the kava ceremony we took part in. We then traveled to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant. There is a path that we followed for quite some time and I highly recommend bringing good shoes and dressing for a hike. We were provided water at the beginning of the trip and some mosquito repellant at the beginning of the trip but the mosquitoes still got to us. We then parted ways with the other couple that was with us since we signed up for the mud pools and they went to go see the village. We have never done a mud bath before so doing so was quite the experience. One thing we noticed was that the mud didn't smell like mud usually does and stepping into the mud pool was by far the strangest feeling since our feet sank into it basically up to our knees. The warm pools that we went into afterward were very rejuvenating and the only reason we got out was that we never discussed when the driver would return to pick us up after taking the other couple to the village. If you are with another group, make sure to designate a return time so that you can take full advantage of the hot spring.
