All of our tour guides are Bay Area Natives, which will help you understand what it’s like to grow up in SF and now live here as grown ups with our own families. You will enjoy an introduction to San Francisco on this 5 to 6 hour tour that includes Neighborhoods like Chinatown, North Beach, Pacific Heights and a trip across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods National Monument. You'll be driven around the city to see its diverse neighborhoods and geography, stopping several times for photo ops. At Muir Woods, admire the towering redwood trees, and visit the waterfront town of Sausalito for lunch (own expense). Works great for people coming from cruise ships. You cannot book the Alcatraz option under 4 days in advance.

In order to visit Alcatraz, you must choose the Alcatraz Option. If you do not select the Alcatraz option, we will not be able to provide admission for you to Alcatraz.
Our ticket availability for Alcatraz visits is limited, and unfortunately, we are unable to provide any extra accommodations. If the Alcatraz option is not available, it means that all tickets have been sold out.

Day Tour + Alcatraz Admission
Official Alactraz Tour : After the "SF-Woods-Sausalito" part of the tour, you will be dropped off at Alcatraz Landing where you will catch the ferry. Duration: 3 hours: The Alcatraz Audio tour is around 90 minutes, you have an option to stay longer or take the ferry back. Alcatraz Ferry: You will take a ferry to and from Alcatraz Island. 5.00Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Our trip to Alcatraz got cancelled, but the tour owner gave a refund for that. The tour guide took us to a few extra spots since that happened.

5.00Brendan was extremely well informed and entertaining. He told us tons about the city and how to get around. He threw in some bonus sight seeing spots and was helpful in taking pictures, providing drinks and snacks, and being hilarious. The trip was comfortable and organized, and felt like a really good way to maximize your time sightseeing, especially if you have limited time during your visit.

5.00What a GREAT way to spend a day in the area! I'll start by saying that I'm not typically the "tour bus" type of traveler but this time I just really wanted to see a ton of stuff without having to navigate the logistics of commuting from place to place or renting a car. To think that by the end of the day we had seen the Golden Gate Bridge, gone all the way to Muir Woods, seen a bit of Sausalito, gotten various photo ops around San Francisco that I otherwise would not have gotten, AND been dropped off just in time to get on a ferry to Alcatraz is crazy! Seriously, what a bang for your buck. Our tour guide Alex was knowledgeable and friendly. He was a great driver and I really appreciated the water and snacks available to us. The time we spent at every spot was just right. I'm so glad I spent the day with SF Excursions.

5.00Our tour guide Alex totally made this tour! He checked in that am to be sure we knew how to contact him if needed if we couldn’t locate him, was SO kind, personable, genuine, helpful, engaged and SO knowledgable about the city! His communication was excellent! Lunch recommendations he made were awesome. We saw so much but never felt rushed! The mini bus was comfortable and he was an excellent driver on the winding, cliff lined roads! We did the add on tour of Alcatraz and would highly recommend it. A walking tour was offered once we arrived to Alcatraz for about 30 mins and the park guide was an amazing story teller. The audio tour included in the Alcatraz tour thru this booking was excellent and headsets were provided despite the Viator agent I contacted prior to our trip saying they were not and that your audio was via private cellphone which was not the case and I was glad. This was not the Viator agents fault. He actually called the Alcatraz venue on my behalf which I thought was above and beyond and was told incorrectly. Thank you Alex! Steve and I so enjoyed meeting you and the wealth of info you provided us!!! Keep up the great job!!!!

5.00We had an amazing time on this tour! Muir Woods was absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking scenery and towering trees that were incredible to experience in person. Alcatraz was fascinating and awesome to see, with so much history and amazing views of the bay. The lunch stop right on the water was excellent and made the day even more enjoyable. Everything was well organized, relaxing, and fun. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting San Francisco!
