We loved our first tour with Said so much, we booked a second one, so this my second review to solidify that if you can book a tour guide, book him. Over the course of six days in Oman for a non VIP booking, Said went above and beyond - he finagled a reservation at a sold out restaurant due to his connections, he was able to squeeze us into his friend’s tour to accommodate the timing we needed, and to top it all off, I messaged him that there was a timing issue and a different tour was canceled and he- on his DAY OFF- picked me and my friend up an hour after I texted to take us on this tour. Said is a good person and it’s more than a tour for him - it’s living and breathing Oman with him. It’s laughing about current events and learning about his upbringing. His ancestry is rooted in Oman and it is deeply personal for him that you see and understand it. He feels like family and we will both miss him - without him, we wouldn’t be going to dinner at Rozna (if you know you know), we wouldn’t have seen the city, the desert, or the islands, and we wouldn’t have had a deeply personal experience that was shared between not just me and my friend but also with Said. If you look at my reviews, I barely write them. But he has done so much, I hope you can help his growing business out and support him. As an aside, he is a heck of a fisherman, so if you have ANY interest in fish, ask him about it, see his catches, and even book his Nizwa tour. Sometimes you visit a place and you think “I will never be back here.” Because of Said, we have to come back because we have to finish the rest of his tours. Ps. He started this business a year ago and look at his reviews! You know he is good. Pps. If the camels approach you, be careful that they don’t bite your fingers! They are cute, but like horses, they want food hahaha

On 26 January, I had the most enjoyable adventure of a day, led by the best tour guide in Oman - Said! As a solo traveler in Oman, I had my reservations going on a tour (especially for many tours I either had to book alone if a group couldn’t be formed). But from the moment we were in contact, he was super friendly and informative (full of emojis too! Haha) which made me excited for the day to come. Most importantly, his friendliness and enthusiasm helped me feel safe as well. Throughout the day, we truly explored so many sites and he had useful and interesting information and insights for each place - Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Royal Opera House, Mutrah Fish Market (of which he was able to share lots of information, being a fisherman himself!), Old Muscat, delicious seafood lunch at a Yemeni restaurant in Mutrah, followed by a 2 hour journey to Bidiyah (of which he let me have a nap in the car whilst he played his own favourite country music songs) and a sunset at the deserts of Wahiba Sands (where he wrote my name in Arabic in the sand too). Even after it was all done, he still had so much energy and enthusiasm! The drive back to Muscat was full of laughs and fun - him sharing his favourite Arabic tunes from Iraq, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt and Oman that he grew up with, and also his love for country music (and I shared some Keith Urban music with him too, given his love for country music!). I also loved hearing about his stories of his time growing up in Tiwi along the coast, and hearing how he spends time with his family and friends - nighttime barbecues with mishkak in the sand dunes, fishing in the sea, picking dates from date palms for his family etc. All in all, with Said as the guide for the day, it felt more like I made a new friend rather than just being led by a guide. I definitely want to return to Oman again with family and friends for another experience with Said - my new buddy and brother in Oman! Shukran, Said! 🙏

The tour was absolutely outstanding! Our tour guide Said was excellent and I can only recommend booking him. We did 2 tours with him, he is very knowledgeable, speaks perfect English and is easy to talk to. The desert camp was my greatest experience in Oman. We got delicious food and a very nice tent. A must do tour and a must book guide!

100% the best thing you can do in Muscat. Said is amazing - so kind and so knowledgable on Oman and the world in general. You can see his amazing spirit by all the small interactions he has with friends, locals, etc throughout the tour. We did all the hotspots in the City - the Mosque, Opera House, Souq, fish market, viewpoint, etc and then we drove to the desert. Said managed to convince me to ride a camel and we watched the sunset which was nothing like I’ve ever seen before! Said knows all the best spots and the tour is easily one of the best I’ve ever done. He also ensures you try local spots for Karak (tea), Omani bread, dates, buffet lunch, etc. You can see and learn so much of Oman in one day and it is never boring/spending too much time in one place. I am a solo female traveller and felt totally in safe hands and confident with Said.
