TE TOKI - Anakena full day tour
Ahu Akahanga
Area of lying moais and legends that say that the first king of the island was buried here.
Rano Raraku
The sacred place where most of these stone giants were sculpted, and learn about the enigmas behind the transfer of these imposing moles to other parts of the island.
Ahu Tongariki
It has 15 moais restored and standing in recent decades.
Ahu Te Pito Kura
Ceremonial center that houses the largest moai of all those built.
Anakena Beach
Better known as Anakena beach, with the best preserved moais on the entire island. Here you can also enjoy a moment of rest, contemplating and enjoying its beautiful beach with palm trees, white sand and turquoise water.
Myths and Legends of the Birdman
Ahu Vinapu
Whose stone constructions account for the techniques of the natives to work the volcanic rock. In addition, there are several remains of destroyed moais, which were knocked down in the 18th century during internal wars between clans.
Orongo
Place where the Tangata Manu competition was held, which in the local language means "Bird Man", which determined which clan would be in charge of the island for a year.
Rano Kau
RANO KAU volcano, which hides a true nature sanctuary in its surprising crater.

Puna Pau
Be amazed by the Rapanui history in the PUNA PAU quarry, where the headdresses of the most famous moais, such as Pukao, were carved.
Ahu Akivi
Restored sector that has seven moais of equal dimensions that face the sea, which are aligned at sunset during the spring equinox and turn their backs to sunrise during the autumn equinox.

Place that concentrates various archaeological and other contemporary components. Here you can see three restored platforms: AHU TAHAI, AHU VAI URI and AHU KO TE RIKU.

3.00Guides were very knowledgeable but this tour could have been booked a lot cheaper if done on the Island. I thought the tour would be English, but it was combined with Spanish which make me believe they were just trying to maximize money and income, not consolidate for efficiency. Again, the guides were great and knowledgeable.

5.00I don't know how our experience could have been any better. We signed up for the 3 tours over three days. Because of scheduling, we ended up doing the two 1/2 day tours on the same day and then the full day tour two days later. This all makes sense when you see the itinerary: the full day is focused on the Eastern side of the island while the half day locations are all close to Hanga Roa. Our 1st day was with Merahi. She is Rapa Nui, seemed to know just about everything, and was great at explaining and then letting us explore. We were never hurried and she was always available to answer questions. Our tours went from 9-12, and then 3-6. Our 2nd day was with Teata. We started at 9 and were back at our hotel by 4. Also a Rapa Nui, he knew just about everything and had an equal understanding about pacing the tour so we weren't rushed and got the pictures we wanted. If you only have 1 day and can handle walking a few miles over the course of 7 hours, I would recommend the full day tour. You see the location where the moai were made, the largest platform of moai, and the ones in the best condition.

4.00It was great to see all major sights of Rapa Nui in 3 excursions (and experiencing all kinds of weather, except for snow :-D ). Very kind, flexible, competent and friendly tour guides and drivers, small group, pick up at my hotel even though it had not been in the individual list. Drove to Orongo twice because at first attempt it was to misty to see anything. My dream of Rapa Nui came true. Thank you very very much for a wonderful experience.

5.00The tours are expensive, but great and all the Maururu Travel staff I dealt with are competent, friendly and service and solution oriented. For example, when Orongo could not be visited at first because of fog, we went again in the afternoon. The groups were small (3 and 6 guests respectively). As participants understood different languages, all statements were made once in Spanish and once in English.
