You’ll go on a tantalizing tour of central Nagasaki’s Chinese-influenced cuisine. Sample street food in the crisscrossing lanes of Chinatown, like Champon (noodles in a pork broth topped with seafood) or steamed buns filled with tender pork belly. The Maruyama entertainment district is chock-full of famous foodie spots, while the Hamanomachi Arcade has a couple of local haunts of its own. Shop for traditional sweets at the 200-year-old Iwanaga Baijuken sweet shop, and grab a bag of Yori Yori sweets (deep-fried, twisted cookies) for later.

Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.

We had a fantastic day with our guide Shin. Our meeting point was at the cruise terminal. During our tour we visited two temples, had a tea cerenomy, tried a lot of different food and drinks, had an ice cream formed like a rose. Shin managed to fulfill our wishes in one tour. A great experience. Ask for Shin!

When I arrived in town, I wasn’t convinced with Nagasaki’s food compared to other cities I’ve been to in Japan, but meeting up with Armand and having him share some of his favourite places was a game changer. I tried some very good food while learning about the city, and had some really nice chats with a very knowledgeable person. I had a wonderful experience!

It was a lot of walking, but so worth it. Armand was a wonderful guide…shared great history and introduced new Japanese food. We thoroughly enjoyed our day!!

We had a great tour with Miki who was able to acomodate meeting us at the cruise terminal. Miki reached out in advance to make sure we knew where to meet and communication was seamless. We were able to try a few different local foods followed by a sushi lunch and dessert spot. We were also able to pass by a few sightseeing spots, which we visited once the tour was over.

Armand was waiting for us when we came off our cruise ship. We had communicated by email after booking about what foods we wanted to try during the walking tour so the tour was arranged accordingly. He took us to have wagyu, sashimi, Castella cake, and sake tasting! Needless to say, everything was delicious! Armand actually went an hour over in order to get everything in. He is very professional and really tries to make sure you get the most out of your time.
