Join us on a full-day, small-group wine tour of the Spectacular Napa Valley wine country! You’ll visit three charming, back roads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. Our specialty is intimate, light hearted and truly memorable experiences. Your guide will set up a tasty picnic lunch for you at a picturesque winery. Once the tour concludes, you will be dropped off from where you were picked up. The tour typically has 8-12 guests on board.

What To Expect

Napa Valley

Your tour will begin with pickup from your Napa Valley hotel. Where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

We were disappointed with Viator. Our 1st booking - Trolley-bus tour of Napa -was cancelled at 48hrs notice & no explanation given. We were reimbursed but no compensation for the inconvenience caused. In regard to our 2nd booking - a Small Group tour in Napa - we were informed with less than 24 to go - that there was only the 2 of us on the Napa and it was suggested to us that we transfer to the Small Group tour of Sonoma - there were 8 other booking for this trip -which we did as were afraid that the Napa tour would be cancelled. We got the distinct impression that Viator was cancelling all trips where they did not have viable numbers. In regard to the Sonoma trip which we ended up taking, the driver/guide was very good. The 1st tasting at Laxton Cellars was very good and the wines excellent. We also liked the Wellington visit and wines. We found both the visit and wines disappointing at Mayo Cellars. I don't understand why the costs of the wine tastings are not included in the price of the tour.

This was our first time on a wine tour so we did not note what to expect. Courtney, our driver, made sure that our experience were nothing short of amazing! From starting with music on our bus, to giving a narrated tour of places on the way to each stop, it was clear she’s fluent with the history of the area. We visited small wineries and each sommelier taught us so much about not only their wines, but how to properly taste, smell and savor each glass. This tour was not just about drinking wine but also about learning of the rich history of the Napa Valley. Getting picked up and dropped back off at our hotels ensured everyone’s experience was top notch and that everyone was able to indulge properly I highly recommend Platypus to handle your tour, they leave out no details to ensure your safety and comfort. If you are on the fence on this, just do it. You won’t regret it

Absolutely outstanding!! This is our second experience with Platypus and Dustin curated two days for us—one for Napa, the other for Sonoma. We wanted smaller wineries with wine we could not get at home. Mike our driver was awesome—humorous and filled with lots of local history to share!!! We will come back to wine country and we will definitely call Platypus!!!!

Loved the small winery vibes. A bit of a longer drive but worth it in a small group. We got paired with lovely people and enjoyed our time with 4 other couples approximately same age group.

We had a wonderful day! Excellent communication prior to the trip. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The wineries he took us too were amazing and varied. Our box lunch was very tasty. I am so glad I took this tour for my Napa visit! Highly recommend!

Such a fun and mellow experience. Tour guide was knowledgeable and the wineries were enjoyable. The description the company has for the vibe of the people your tour with is dead on - everyone was fun, funny and friendly. There was no pretense or attempts at snobbery! It was just good spirit, good company and good wine.
