Kofuku-ji Temple
Kofuku-ji Temple was established in Nara at the same time as the capital in 710. It is famous for it's five-storied pagoda, the second tallest wooden pagoda in Japan just seven meters shorter than the five-storied pagoda at Kyoto's Toji Temple. See this temple for yourself at sunrise!
Kasuga Grand Shrine
Kasuga Grand Shrine is famous for it's lanterns, which have been donated by worshippers. There are approximately 3000 stone and bronze lanterns, standing as one of Japan's most historical shrines. It holds significance as the sacred grounds that inspired the presence of deer in Nara Park.

We had an amazing tour of Nara with Aki! She was incredibly personable, knowledgable, helpful, and fun! Also her English is impeccable, I thought she was from the U.S. Our visit to Nara and this tour have been one of the highlights of our trip so far and would absolutely recommend it to anyone and everyone. Nara is a truly magical place and the history and facts Aki provided throughout the tour made it even more so. Thank you for an amazing memory!

Very good way to see Nara from Kyoto. Our tour guide, Itsuki, was super friendly and really knew her history of the area. The sites were beautiful and the history is fascinating. Itsuki was amazing. She went the “extra mile” and made sure we all made it back to the train station and back on the appropriate train Ok. It is some walking but very manageable.

The whole experience was very good. Itsuki was great. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure we all had a good experience. The sites are stunning and the history is fascinating. Itsuki went above and beyond and walked us back after the experience to make sure everyone made it on the train OK. Great tour
