This was an amazing tour. We were able to see the highlights of Nara: Kasuga taisha, Todai-ji temple, and some smaller unique shrines and temples. The guide, Hiroki, was very knowledgeable about the shrines, temples, history, and culture of Nara. He was also very charming and funny. The tour felt like hanging out with a friend who has moved away to a different country and is helping you learn about history and culture. We had a great tempura rice bowl lunch too. After lunch, we did a furushiki experience. It’s a type of Japanese cloth folding. We learned how to make a bag, a small poncho, and a wine bottle holder! It was all done with folding cloth! Then we walked around the historic district of Naramachi highly recommended!
