National Corvette Museum

The National Corvette Museum is a showcase to America's sports car.  Start your tour with a short film about the history of the Corvette and the Corvette Museum.  As you walk though the museum you'll see exhibits featuring over 70 Corvettes in periodic settings including a mid-century barbershop, service station and dealership.  You'll see Corvette prototypes, one-of-kind cars, and racing champs.  Enjoy hands-on activities in KidZone , trivia kiosks, and the "Corvette Cave In” exhibit.  This exhibit takes visitors back to the early morning hours of February 12, 2014 when the earth opened up inside the Museum’s Skydome, swallowing the classic Corvettes.  The Museum's Skydome offers a glimpse of the size and depth of the sinkhole as well as the retrieved Corvettes. Guests are also invited to try a Corvette on for size in the lobby. The Corvette Store offers apparel, collectibles, home and gift items.  An on-site 50's-inspired Corvette Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Great stop for a couple hours even if you aren't a car enthusiast. Fun to see all the different Corvette models. Good gift shop with lots of selection.

The guided tour was very informative. The tour guide explained the history and stories of the “life” of the Corvette. It was interesting to know that some of the cars are “on loan” to the museum and some are donated. The video of the assembly line was also interesting.

Renovating a lot of displays so about 25% closed including the sink hole exhibits. Disappointing that they do not let people know before traveling.

The trip was amazing. The location of our hotel was just down the street from the museum. If you didn’t have the fever for a corvette before then you definitely would after you left. We also checked out a wonderful antique store and took my hubby out to eat. Everything was just right celebrating my husbands birthday.
