Located on Sri Lanka’s west coast just north of Colombo, Negombo is a city full of history and charm. Along the waterfront, the 17th-century Dutch Fort now functions as a prison, while the Negombo Lagoon, lined with fishermen’s huts, flows into the historic Hamilton Canal that leads south to Colombo. Don’t miss St. Mary’s Church, a neoclassical masterpiece from the 1920s, famous for its colorful and intricate ceiling paintings.

Experience the Negombo Fish Market, bustling right on the beach with the day’s fresh catch. Watch fishermen at work—untangling nets, sorting their boats, and sun-drying shark, tuna, sardines, mackerel, and more along the shore. Children play nearby, and lively stalls sell everything from fresh fish to live crabs. You might even spot families relaxing in the shade of the fishermen’s open coastal sheds.

My family and I, along with our three daughters, absolutely loved this experience! The beautiful female drivers were so friendly, kind, and curious it made the whole tour even more special. We joined the food and culture tour and, for the first time, truly got a glimpse into how the locals live and work. It was incredibly interesting and eye-opening. The street food was delicious and authentic, coming from real local vendors. We’re especially grateful to our guides for being so open and honest in sharing their personal life stories. It was a meaningful and unforgettable experience for our whole family! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We chose the Scooty package with Romal, and it was just amazing. The guide showed us the real local life in the markets and took us to great local restaurants and truly excellent value for money! We also booked a 3-hour bike ride through the temples, and it was such an incredible experience.⭐ Highly recommend this tour! ⭐
