Schloss Neuschwanstein
Schloss Neuschwanstein, often known as Germany’s "Cinderella castle," was actually the inspiration for a different Disney story, the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ castle at Disneyland. The entrance fee to the castle is not included (you can pay on the day), but by booking this tour in advance, you’ll receive skip-the-line access to Neuschwanstein so you won’t waste time standing in the ticket queue. Once inside the enchanting structure, take a tour with a guide, who shares fascinating stories about the reclusive Bavarian king who commissioned a new residence in the 19th century. Thought to be mad, King Ludwig II desired a fantasy castle built in the mountains, an obsessive feat that was still incomplete when he died. Visit the best vantage points for views and photo ops of the castle’s towers, interiors and surrounding scenery such as the lake, gorge and equally beautiful Hohenschwangau Castle.

It was my first time in München with my partner and we booked the Neuschwanstein schloss tour with Radius tours. Our tour guide Thomas had a great energy from the beginning! He is a great storyteller and ensures everyone on the tour is understanding the history and story behind the castle. He has a great sense of humor and we enjoyed every explanation of the castle, paintings and the history behind Bavaria through him. I felt like I was time traveling to Prince Ludwig's time after hearing the stories on the way and when I was inside the castle. Would recommend this tour to visit this castle who travels to München.

Thomas was full of knowledge and made the trip that much more special. The castle is great, but the context he provided really helped the tour.

Our family had a magical visit up to the castle. Our guide, Thomas, kept our attention with stories and a wealth of background knowledge for the two hour journey each way. He also had great advice on how to budget our free time.

Thomas's guide was fun! Neuschbanstein Castle, which was snowy and cold but had snowy scenery, was also exceptional. They distributed the pace while taking time off the climb, so I was able to climb without any problems. It was good.

It was a great day! Our tour guide on the bus was quite amusing. The scenery was beautiful. It had snowed overnight leaving everything looking like a winter wonderland. The tour inside the castle was short but it was nice to see the rooms that were decorated. Due to the snow the bridge to take the classic photo was closed. The photo from the castle of the bridge was pretty cool. Overall the snow and fewer visitors made visiting the castle delightful!

Excellent tour. Really well organized. Traveled with a family of 4 including 2 small children. Charlie was our guide and was very knowledgeable of the history of the castle and very funny too. Bus starts from Munich and has a bathroom break in half hour. We reach the destination just before noon. You get roughly 2 hours to walk up to the castle. We had lunch and saw the other castle - Hohenschwangau from outside before climbing up to Neuschwanstein. There are horse carriages but the line is very long. If you need to take the carriage, grab a quick bite and skip the Hohenschwangau castle Our guide met us at the designated spot, handed us the castle tickets and gave a brief overview. The tour itself was very interesting. The castle is very beautiful. Once the tour is done, we head back down, meet our guide and head back to Munich Tips- if you are traveling with small children, be prepared. The castle has a lot of steps and the kids need to be able to climb those. The walk from the village to castle is roughly 30-40 min and has a gentle uphill slope. If the kids get tired from the walk, then they probably won’t like climbing stairs inside the castle. We carried strollers for the walk upto the castle and it helped a lot. Else pick the carriage ride and hope the line is short otherwise you could miss your timeslot
