You’ll journey through Danish identity across five unique stops, moving from traditional smørrebrød to vibrant street food, modern Nordic comfort, and ending with the iconic Danish pastry. Each stop tells a chapter of Denmark’s story, connecting history, innovation, and everyday life into a cohesive culinary narrative.
The tour takes you through two of Copenhagen’s most captivating neighbourhoods. You’ll start in Nyhavn, the city’s historic harbourfront, once filled with sailors, merchants, and trading ships, now a clean, design-driven hub. Then you’ll cross the bridge into Christianshavn, often called Copenhagen’s Mini-Amsterdam, with its canals, colorful houses, historic warehouses, houseboats, and vibrant cafés and bakeries that capture authentic everyday Danish life.

My husband and I did Eating Europe's new Copenhagen tour a few days ago. Mark, our guide, was incredibly knowledgable and kind. We visited 5 different stops, each different from each other yet each delicious. We had open faced sandwiches (delicious!), street food by an ex Noma pastry chef, a fabulous lentil dish, the classic Danish hot dog, and of course ended with amazing pastries. The tour surpassed our expectations and we would highly recommend to others!

What a great experience. We ate foods that we wouldn’t have otherwise tried ourselves. So we appreciate the exposure to new foods. Also, it was a good balance of walking and eating. Well planned out when eating a heavier meal and nice walk to settle in for the next meal. A good problem to have was that everyone actually got full from the food. Finished the tour with a full stomach.

In addition to 5 tasting items, we walked to several neighbourhoods and Mark, our guide, provided entertaining descriptions. The highlight was the Danish open face sandwich called a Smørrebrød. Delish.

Our guide Mark was amazing, very approachable and knowledgeable, food was amazing, who would have thought porridge could be soooo delicious. Weather was cold and wet but we can't blame him for that. My first time on a food tour with this company, would highly recommend

Mark was our guide and he was very knowledgeable of the Copenhagen food scene and food culture. His knowledge of Danish/nordic food and culture transcended our expectations and past experiences from foodie tours in other parts of the world. He has a very great knowledge base and understanding of Copenhagen. The food stops were all well done with an emphasis on the relationship of both traditional and new Nordic cuisines. We were very pleased with the tour!!

The Eating Denmark food tour is an absolute must-do for anyone wanting to truly taste the heart of Copenhagen. It is a brilliant blend of culinary indulgence and deep-rooted culture that leaves you both full and inspired. The true soul of the tour is the guide, Hans-Mark. His storytelling is second to none—charismatic, insightful, and delivered with a passion that brings the city’s streets to life. He doesn't just share facts; he weaves narratives that make the history feel personal and vibrant.
