Join this fun food tour, with locally raised guides who have generations of knowledge! This tour is unique because you will enjoy a hand-picked New Mexican food experience. Experience New Mexican food and discover some of the best foodie spots near the Santa Fe Plaza. On the tour, you will also learn about the history of Santa Fe, the food, culture, and historical points of interest such as the Palace of the Governors, The San Miguel Mission (The oldest church structure in the USA), and The Loretto Chapel (Home to the Miraculous Staircase). This casual tour includes a full lunch, non-alcoholic drinks, alcohol pairings (Such as wine, margaritas, or local beers), as well as dessert. **NOTE** This tour features New Mexican-inspired foods and can be spicy for some guests. We don't recommend this tour for anyone with serious food restrictions and minimal walking ability.

You will see the heart of Santa Fe, where the city began, while you gather a brief intro history.
The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi
As we stroll to our first stop, we will see the Basilica built in 1866.

3.00Jose is a good story teller, who knows a lot about Santa Fe history, food history, and culture, so he talked about these almost non-stop. The result: a lot of listening, and a lot to learn about Santa Fe culture. Jose excels in this category! However, since this was a food tasting tour, we were disappointed in the restaurants and food choices. I noticed that all eleven people in our tour seemed to be as non-plussed as I was. I finally figured out that when he said, "This is how my grandmother would make it, he meant just that. Apparently, she made rather plain tacos with very little embellishment beyond the green chile sauce." I get it-simple foods. Yet, I was expecting something a little more complex. The next restaurant was about average and the last restaurant offered . . . a hamburger topped with a chopped green chili & fries! Seriously? I see that Jose gets mostly 5-star reviews, and I am bewildered by this. After the tour, we found restaurants that served local foods like delicious pozoles and green chile stews. In Summary: If you are NOT serious about exploring great tasting Santa Fe foods, and if you secretly wanted a hamburger instead, this is the tour for you.

5.00Great way to experience downtown Santa Fe. Jose was very engaging and knowledgeable. I would recommend taking this tour at the start of your trip so that you have time to go back and explore more on your own. This was a great way to get introduced to the great food and culture.

3.00Jose was a non-stop talker and story teller who was very compelling when he spoke of the history, food, and culture. (Less interesting when talking about his personal life). The restaurants we went to were pretty empty and the dishes frankly were average at best. I am a huge foodie from Chicago who has traveled the world and done a number of walking food tours. This is NOT one that I would recommend. We were taken by two churches but not taken inside. For an extra $10, we could have passed through both and seen the best of those highlights. Dessert was pieces of chocolate in a hallway from a chocolate shop. Not local and a sad way to end a food tour.

5.00Jose was an excellent guide. He took us to 3 amazing spots that serve authentic regional food and wonderful margaritas. We also got to see some cool sites and learn lots of New Mexico history. Not only was he an awesome guide, but he guided me through text after the tour was over, giving me other recommendations.I would take another tour from this company again. Thanks Jose- AKA Joey😊.

5.00Paul was great and very knowledgeable. He knows so much about the area and history and clearly loves what he is doing. The food was very good at the 1st 2 restaurants, the 3rd just average American food with some green chiles on top. The chocolate store was very good. Plus he gave us recommendations for restaurants other than the ones we visited.
