Take a break from the hustle-bustle of New Orleans and escape to nature on this exhilarating, family-friendly airboat ride! Spot alligators, snakes, turtles, egrets and herons as you take a fast, fun ride over a tidewater cypress swamp close to Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Admire moss-covered cypress and tupelo-gum trees as you explore bayous teeming with life and take advantage of incredible photo ops.

Th premium small-group tour is limited to 6 people, regular small airboat (up to 10 people) or large airboat (up to 30 people) to allow for better views of the wildlife.

Please note: If you book the self-drive option you will not receive hotel pickup. If you book the option with pickup, pickups will begin 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to tour time.

There are no rideshare or taxi services to this area. Gators are more commonly spotted in summer months.

Our driver was knowledgeable and knew where to find the alligators in their winter grogginess. He knew when to speed up and when to slow down. Best of all, he had that sweet Louisiana dialect that was music to our ears when he spoke. Tour information was just enough to keep us interested in experiencing our surroundings.

Take the smallest airboat as it is so worth the ride and experience. Our pilot was Jay. He knew so much about the area. Called alligators to the surface for us to see up close.

This was our 2nd time going on this tour, and each time has been excellent! We’ve been during summer and now in the winter, and we actually saw more gators in winter because they were on shore. Our captain Mark was very knowledgeable and definitely experienced. The whole process from ticketing to tour was very organized and I appreciated all the communication throughout the process. We will definitely be back for more fun adventures.

Getting the package with a pickup and drop-off is good when there's a 1 or 2 travelers. Uber/Lyft would be cheaper if you're in a group of three or more. Love the tour. Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

We had an excellent guide and experience and saw plenty of alligators due to the unusually warm and sunny day in December. It was a small group and a fun airboat ride. Would definitely recommend!
