Discover the history and mystery of the French Quarter, also known as the Vieux Carre. See prominent landmarks such as the St. Louis Cathedral, French Market, Spanish Cabildo, Pontalba Buildings, Place D'Armes, and Napoleon House. Learn about important events such as the Great Fire of 1788, Battle of New Orleans, etc. Admire the architecture of Creole Esplanade, Old Slave Quarters, French Coffee Houses, Spanish Patios, and Ironwork Balconies

5.00This tour was fun and informative. The guide was knowledgeable and funny. We learned a lot that we would never have known otherwise. I felt the length of the tour was just right and the small group size (6) made it feel personal. And the sound of the mule's hooves on the pavement just added to the whole experience. I loved it.

4.00Fun little ride around the city. Driver was knowledgeable and shared a lot of history. Only problem was you couldn’t hear him well. No microphone and the streets are loud with music and traffic. Glad we did it but would have been even better if we could hear all that was said. We were in the last row of the carriage, so sit up close if you can.

5.00This is a wonderful way to see the French Quarter! Our tour guide, Mike, was wonderful and very knowledgeable of the history of New Orleans. The hour flew by, but we got to see so much! Irma, the mule leading our carriage, was wonderful too!!!

5.00Easy way to get an overview of the area before we explored later. Guide had great stories & knowledge. We went early before the people & traffic started to build up. Made navigating the streets easier. The carriage travelled at a great pace. Faster than walking, but not so quick you missed anything. Would do again.

5.00This place is close to everything, which made exploring the city super convenient. The room was very clean and well kept, and even though it can get loud outside, the inside is impressively quiet — I didn’t hear any noise at all. I felt comfortable and safe the entire stay. For the location, cleanliness, and overall value, it’s absolutely worth the price. I would definitely stay here again.

5.00Our guide Marty and his mule Benson were wonderful to spend time with. Marty was extremely knowledgeable and the way he interacted with Benson was heartwarming! Heads up if you sit in the front row it gets a little hot as there’s no shade so I would bring a fan. You should definitely do this tour if you’re considering it!

5.00Our tour guide Jason had the perfect balance of humor and knowledge about the French Quarter! He even added in some factoids about movie film locations and recent celebrity events. His mule Shirley was a sweet-heart too! I highly recommend Royal Carriages!
