Jackson Square
This authentic mode of transportation will help you time-travel back to the 1700s and 1800s when death and disease were rampant due to devastating fires, floods, murders, and more! Being that there are only 8-passengers on-board the carriage, the mule-drawn adventure is more intimate and unforgettable. The carriage-driving tour guides are top-rated licensed guides who have been sending chills down spines for over 75 years. Meet and board at the carriage stand located at 700 Decatur Street. As your carriage departs from Jackson Square, your driver/guide will regale you with stories of the city's founding as the carriage passes through the historic French Quarter street.
French Quarter
Travel past landmarks such as Saint Louis Cathedral, Jackson Square, Napoleon House, and more as the carriage wind through New Orleans' oldest neighborhood, the French Quarter. Expect stories that are both historical, entertaining and appropriate for all visitors. It's important to understand the history so that you can understand the spirits that haunt the buildings. New Orleans is considered to be the most haunted city in America. Countless tragedies have happened right in the French Quarter, including devastating floods and fires killing thousands, contagious epidemics resulting in thousands of deaths, and other odd occurrences like weird human torture experiments, medical experiments, love lost, and more. These stories have been documented in police records and history books, and some can be quite alarming! You'll learn about the stories, then about how the "spirits" are letting people know that they are still very present! Do you have goosebumps yet?

Great time. Our guide (KJ) was awesome. We had a group of 7, and he handled everything beautifully.

I’ve been to New Orleans several times and can’t believe this was my first time doing the carriage ghost tour—but it definitely won’t be my last. Our guide Brit was so good. She was funny, engaging, and really knew her stuff. She didn’t just tell ghost stories—she gave a lot of history and background on the places we passed, which made the whole experience even better. And shoutout to Blaze the mule 🐴—she was adorable and did such a great job. Honestly added to the whole charm of the tour. We covered a lot of areas I hadn’t seen before, even after multiple trips to NOLA, which made it feel like a totally new experience. Highly recommend booking this whether it’s your first visit or your fifth—it’s such a fun, unique way to see the city at night.

Amazing tour guide, she knew her history of the area. I even googled during the trip to "fact check" the information. It was all legit lol. The mule "desire" was very smart and loved a good ear scratch. Overall 10/10

Underwhelming experience. Passed some very prominent haunted locations without a single word about them. Tour ended 15 minutes early. Not worth the money.

The carriage ride-nice… the tour guide - not into it but historically knowledgeable… Haunted stories- poor… Took my family on this tour, my 12 yr old son was super excited to hear about all the ghost and spooky lore New Orleans has to offer. We left with less magic and lore and more cynicism. While our tour guide was historically knowledgeable she told us maybe a 1/3 of the stories (as the other groups got) as we toured the city and then logically explained why they couldn’t be ghost stores/real…we were close enough to the other tours to hear some of the other guides lean into the spookiness (I’m not sure if that made it better or worse…we got to hear some stories at least, but were constantly reminded that our tour guide was sub-par and were sad when we got out of earshot of them). Examples of Our stories…well this general lived here and saw horrors of battle - he said the ghost followed him home, but really he had PTSD and syphilis. Oh and the scary things that happened here they locked the room and never went back in, that couldn’t have happened because it’s a museum and they need all the space, and how would the building inspectors done their jobs?? “I don’t believe in ghosts, most of the New Orleans stories are just over exaggerations or something people didn’t understand at the time”!?!? That’s what you are leading with on the Haunted Tour!?!? Our tour guide also shared that all the other tour guide “who were super into it” were actors that “couldn’t make it” in California so they came here to live out their failed dreams. If you read the description the tour is not logical explanations of New Orleans….it was supposed to be a haunted tour!!! Honestly I would have preferred a “failed actor” as my tour guide because at least then my son would have been entertained…. I’m not saying don’t do the tour…I’m saying that you’re spending a couple hundred bucks for a dice roll on a tour guide.
