Enjoy this fascinating 90 minute group tour that introduces you to all of the secrets of the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral. Enter off limits areas like the two walled cemeteries and an exclusive experience in the CATACOMBS beneath the Old Cathedral. For over 200 years, the CATACOMBS of the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral has served as the final resting place for the departed. This unique and historic place has been a silent witness to the many struggles and accomplishments of prominent New York Catholics. It is where bishops rest beside noteworthy New Yorkers who have played defining roles in Catholic, New York and American history.

5.00We really enjoyed this tour. Leo, our guide, shared the history of the St. Patrick’s (and its place in NYC society) and the surrounding area. There were plenty of interesting stories about the graveyard and catacombs.

2.00This is a 90 minute tour that consist of a 75-minute catholic history lesson in and around the outside graveyards and 15 minutes in the catacombs. That doesn’t make it bad for everyone, but it does not seem to be especially true to the name of the tour. The tour guide was very friendly and excellent at delivering the information, but what this tour desperately needs is a new script with a clear story line and a focus on a few key characters, as opposed to the decade-jumping mentions of names and dates like it currently is.
