Enjoy this fascinating 90 minute group tour that introduces you to all of the secrets of the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral. Enter off limits areas like the two walled cemeteries and an exclusive experience in the CATACOMBS beneath the Old Cathedral. For over 200 years, the CATACOMBS of the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral has served as the final resting place for the departed. This unique and historic place has been a silent witness to the many struggles and accomplishments of prominent New York Catholics. It is where bishops rest beside noteworthy New Yorkers who have played defining roles in Catholic, New York and American history.

5.00Jimmy is very educated and very unintentionally funny. We went at a good job because the church was closed so we were able to get the whole church to ourselves. Highly recommend if you want to learn about catholic history and its impact in New York.

5.00This candlelight catacombs tour of the Bascilica of Old St Patrick's Cathedral was an unforgettable experience. Leslie, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and engaging, sharing fascinating stories and historical context without rushing the experience. We started the tour by exploring the cemetary to the side of the church, learning about the burial methods of the time and histories of some of the people who rested there. Then came the best part... Exploring the catacombs beneath the church by the soft glow of candles created an atmosphere that was both peaceful and haunting in the best way. It felt immersive and respectful, allowing the history of the space to really sink in. The candlelight added a sense of reverence and intimacy that made the tour feel special and unlike anything else we’ve done. If you’re looking for something unique, atmospheric, and deeply memorable, this tour is absolutely worth it. A beautiful blend of history, mystery, and quiet reflection that we’ll be talking about for a long time.

1.00The advertising is very misleading. We scheduled this specifically to go to mass directly after. We would not have had time to make it to mass if we went on the tour so we just forfeited the money.
