Enjoy this fascinating 90 minute group tour that introduces you to all of the secrets of the Basilica of St. Patrick's Old Cathedral. Enter off limits areas like the two walled cemeteries and an exclusive experience in the CATACOMBS beneath the Old Cathedral. For over 200 years, the CATACOMBS of the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral has served as the final resting place for the departed. This unique and historic place has been a silent witness to the many struggles and accomplishments of prominent New York Catholics. It is where bishops rest beside noteworthy New Yorkers who have played defining roles in Catholic, New York and American history.

This was one of our favorite activities on our trip. We both have been to NYC several times and stumbled across this tour. Our guide, from Brooklyn and an Irish Catholic, made it memorable. He grew up in the area and had childhood stories about it among other stories, as well. We loved hearing about the history and architecture of the church as well as the "movie history" behind the church, as well. If this isn't a bucket list item on your trip to NYC, it should be!

My teen daughter and I really enjoyed this tour!! Our guide, Jimmy Boyle, was excellent: warm, funny, and full of information. We learned many interesting things about the church and about New York history on this tour and we highly recommend it!!!

It was ok. Our guide was very nice. It was a little boring. Just going underground to a bunch of walls with people names. Our guide told us about some of the people who names appeared. We really did like the sanctuary. It was lovely.
