Super cool! I wish we were able to do it at night, but they are working out some permitting. I feel like we would’ve been able to see more under the water, but it was tough to see since the sun was up, but it was setting and that was a beautiful view. I can’t remember the names of the guides, but it was a guy and a lady, both of whom were kind: Instructions were clear, they took a couple of pictures for us, and shared a bit of history. Be ready for a bit of a workout, a beautiful view, and a good time.

Our tour guides Cheli & Mariellie were warm and welcoming to our early morning (8am Crystal Kayaking Excursion). Mariellen helped us get into & out of our kayaks and Cheli did most of the narrating. Cheli’s a very intelligent and informative guide, she took time to explain the environmental advantages of these protected bays for the manatees (which we had the fortunate opportunity to see) & the invasive iguanas taking over PR. We also saw special jelly fish too. Overall a fun time, wish we got to do the night kayaking, but that just leaves us another reason to return soon. At the end of the tour, we were airdropped photos (free) along with a list of recommended restaurants 😋 which we did use 👍🏻

They do day kayaking as well, and my mother and I took one first thing in the morning. I cannot recommend this enough! The water was calm, and our guide Amanda was extremely knowledgeable about the lagoon and the marine life! We saw all kinds of things from lion fish to pelicans. It was a very relaxing morning with a guide that couldn't have been more helpful! We'll be back again!

Here’s a review-style overview of the experience Night Kayak – Condado City Lights Tour (at Condado Lagoon / Condado Ocean Club area), based on recent participant feedback and available tour descriptions. ✅ What Works Really Well • Magical, glowing atmosphere The LED-equipped clear-bottom kayaks make the water glow underfoot — turning the lagoon into a luminous mirror of city lights. Many reviewers call it a “magical” or “other-worldly” experience. Paddling at night, surrounded by San Juan’s skyline reflections and the softly illuminated water, gives a uniquely peaceful and romantic vibe that’s hard to replicate during daytime tours. • Easy & accessible — even for first-timers The tour comes with a quick “Kayak 101” safety briefing, life jackets, paddles and clear instructions, so even beginners (or people who’ve never kayaked before) find it manageable. The lagoon’s calm waters make for a relaxed ride — doubts about strong currents or rough seas are unfounded in this setting. • Fun extras — glow paint, photos & a friendly atmosphere Before launch, participants often get glow-sticks or glow paint (sometimes playful “war-paint”), which adds to the ambiance and makes for fun photos. Guides are described as friendly, helpful and informative — pointing out city-light views, local ecology, and even sharing local tips for food and nightlife afterward. • Great for couples, friends, and groups Because of the shared tandem kayaks, small group size, and relatively gentle pace, it works well for a range of people — couples wanting a romantic escapade, friends craving something different, or families with older kids. ⚠️ What to Keep in Mind / Minor Downsides The tour is only about 1 hour, so it’s short — if you hoped for a long nighttime adventure, this may feel brief. Because kayaks are clear-bottom and LED-lit, waterproof cameras or GoPros are strongly recommended for photos. Water can drip into the kayak during paddling. You might get a bit wet during entry and exit (the kayaks require you to step down ~2 feet from the dock), so shoes or water-friendly footwear helps. While marine life (fish, starfish, etc.) is occasionally spotted, sightings aren’t guaranteed. So if you go mostly for “wildlife watching,” go with tempered expectations. 🎯 Who This Is Best For First-time kayakers or beginners, because of the easy paddling and gentle water. Couples or small friend groups looking for a romantic/nighttime activity with a unique city/sea vibe. Travelers wanting a light, fun evening experience, maybe after a day of sightseeing — not too demanding, but memorable. People who enjoy photography / novelty experiences (glow kayaks, city-lights reflections, night lagoon ambiance). 📝 Overall Impression The Night Kayak — Condado City Lights Tour delivers a unique, beautiful, and fun way to experience a city and its waterscape at night. It may not be an intense adventure or a long excursion, but for what it offers — glowing kayaks, skyline reflections, a mellow glide over calm waters, and good guides — it’s a highly recommended, must-do especially if you want a relaxing but memorable night out in San Juan. If you like — I can also check recent ratings (2024–2025) for this tour and give you a breakdown of pros vs cons based on real user reviews. Do you want me to compile that for you now?

I had a fantastic time kayaking at night in Puerto Rico's San Juan! For a reasonable price, I got to kayak and see large fish under my kayak. The staff were so friendly, even though the electricity was out. The guide took a moment to take a picture for me with a starry night sky, and I did the same for him. Since the electricity was out, the stars were visible and breathtaking. While the generators' noise did not help, the overall experience was phenomenal.
